WeChat due to WePay is tied in with banks with china for all transactions, far as I know you can't do any transaction in the app anymore without a chinese bank account. Second TikTok does not run/exist in china. Due to the nature of how china is, when TikTok creator ByteDance was looking to bring Douyin (The platform in china) to the west, they spun up a clone of the platform which is TikTok. So TT shutting down has no direct impact on Douyin in china. Blame this on the vagueness of the EO. If, in this case, Apple cannot perform any type of transaction with Tencent, how would that not ban Tencent from, say, updating or Apple providing tools and such to support the iOS port of WeChat? The EO seems to state that US companies cannot engage in any sort of transaction with Tencent in regards to WeChat.

The only one would be Tencents/ByteDance renewing their yearly dev contracts with apple. Yet there are most likely legal ways for apple to get around that in the 45 day period before either EO kicks in.

TwinIon
So far we have Oracle, MS, and Twitter all talking about buying. MS still seems the most likely, given their Chinese connections, but who knows. Bill Gates certainly doesn't want MS to buy. Maybe TikTok is just going to win in court and no sale will even happen. Oddly, it seems very fragmented. Microsoft seems interested in all of TikTok minus Douyin whereas Twitter and Oracle only seem interested in TikTok's US operations. Walmart Labs does a lot of things similar to Amazon, in terms of analytics. the reason why TikTok would be attractive to Walmart is because TikTok ads seem to work better than FB, Google, and Snap in getting users to buy physical stuff (via ads). And ads on TikTok are half the cost of FB.
