Ok well you stretched nothing BUT in Hades you actually move around a "3d" environment during battle, and they take places in big rooms / arenas, which looks more like this. Dead Cells is more of a sidescrolling game, like a roguelike metroidvania kind of thing, while Hades is all about battling and upgrading stuff. Okay, bold out of the way, yeah, that sounds more like it. I still think my Dead Cells comparison was spot on since you feel a sense of progression upgrading things that carry over from playthrough to playthrough. It's because I loved Dead Cells that Hades interests me and Returnal interests me, so the fact that Hades has similarities to Dead Cells as well is exciting. Bloodporne
Only thing I'm not digging about this game are the seemingly simple and same-y looking level layouts and designs. It all looks like 'alien rocks and vines' in varying colors.

Even Hades which has a generally great art design, you spend most of the time in essentially the first stage and see most of the environment variation you will spend most of your time with in like 10 minutes. Even after then you don’t get a lot of variation for the amount of time you play it beyond the random shifting of assets, but mostly it’s like different rooms in the same area over and over. Actually though it had the same problem, Dead Cells I feel does this a little better. I don’t think it has to be part of the core concept with these games, move assets around randomly when you die but have a large template of basic environmental designs that are distinct from each other.
