~*Official Canada Thread of Good Governance and Unnecessary Apologizing*~

Pressure is apparently mounting from inside the Liberal caucus for Trudeau to resign as PM, and give his successor a year to govern before the next election:

Makes sense to me. If polls were still close like the last two elections, I'd say give him a fourth shot. But Poilievre is really evil (true believer far-right), and anything they can do to reduce his chance at a majority is a good thing.

That was one hilarious ballot. For the by-election, there's a protest against the first past the post system and there were something like 91 candidates on the ballot. Unfolded it looked more than 3 sheets long. I had to lay it on the table sideways since the booth was much wider than deep. The names were in alphabetical order, but if anybody doesn't know the name of their party's candidate they'll be in for a shock. Probably not a good time for somebody to be undecided.

They list the parties. The point is that if somebody didn't care to find out the name of the candidate for the party they wanted to vote for, thinking they would just look for the party name on the ballot, they'd have been in for a shock when instead of a few names to look through, there were 91. There were 80 independent/no affiliation candidates.
