Brick
I've always wanted to know why they decided to return to Joel and Ellie for the sequel. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I could swear that when the first game came out, Naughty Dog said that if they were to ever make a sequel, it wouldn't be with Joel and Ellie, it would be with new characters, as Joel and Ellie's story was finished. If that was indeed the case, I wonder what made them decide to reverse that decision, and indeed come back to Joel and Ellie. I wish some interviewer would ask them. Did they try and think up a new story with new characters, but the thought of, "what could Joel and Ellie be up to now" kept cropping up, and was too enticing to not write? Brick
Figured Ellie would have learned to swim by this game. Joel must have finally taught her after getting tired of pushing her around on floating skids.
TheLeon
This is a game that I really don’t need to see at all before I get to play it. I barely remember the trailer I saw from a year or two ago, and that’s it.

Moa
The gameplay looks dope. It reminds me of a slower MGSV in that it has a ton of overlapping systems that come together to make a game that reacts to you as you react to it. It's also nice to see a game other than Spec Ops: The Line take seriously the violence that it is portraying.
ShreddieMercury
That video made me realize that I might just not be interested in playing games with this level of violence anymore. I don't really find the appeal in watching realistically rendered murder animations for 20 hours in a row. I've played my fair share of extremely violent games, but the best experiences I've had in the past several years have eschewed violence completely. I hope this game is really excellent and delivers on people's excitement for the franchise, but I think I'm out.

AbsolutSurgen
What I liked about the first TLoU was the characterization, the interaction between Joel and Ellie, and the somewhat "novel" story (for the time). I thought the gameplay was the worst part of the game. To me, it was a less-than-the-best stealth game. What I see in this game, is sadistic violence. While I thought God of War was over the top, and I disliked the gruesome attacks on mythological creatures, I was able to disassociate somewhat from it. In game like Assassin's Creed, the violence is more than I would like, but I am attacking a bunch of non-personified, copy-and-paste faceless drones. What I have seen in TLOU2, feels more like the player is sadistically killing REAL individuals. I have never felt that way while playing a game, and I don't think I want to. atom631
damn Ellie became a violent bitch, huh. I hope stealth is still a viable option.

Rick2101
Hate that we get to hurt dogs in the game. the game looks incredible and I’m sure many will compare the graphics to next gen! I’ll get it but for the ps5. I have too many games to finish right now lol

SimpleG
Looks good cant wait, as far as the violence goes it doesnt bother me. It fits well with this game.
Mercury33
I don’t have an issue with the violence because it seems to fit within the theme of the story they’re trying to tell. It doesn’t seem the violence is taken lightly. Seems to be going to an uncomfortable vibe similar to The Road.

I personally like that they're taking a more realistic approach with the violence, because violence is often portrayed as cartoonish and unrealistic in games. But not in this game, it looks brutal, dark and gritty as fuck. I know that's not everyone's thing, but that's part of why the game looks so appealing to me because despite the popularity of the original they're not toning anything down in the sequel to appeal to the masses. They're making the game that they want without caving to mainstream appeal, and I respect that. On 5/29/2020 at 6:51 AM, atom631 said: damn Ellie became a violent bitch, huh. Yeah, and I'm sure that there's a reason for it which we'll find out why when we play the game. June 19th can't get here fast enough.
