The $300 is the one Trump did the executive order for, it only provided 6-weeks (August through mid-September) and drained FEMA funds. MarSolo
Seriously, it’s funny to note that if Trump had actually gotten Republicans on board with monthly stimulus checks, he’d have won the election in a landslide.

CitizenVectron
Airbnb asked Canada for a bailout. Canada slapped Airbnb with a tax. THINKPOL.CA It’s about to get a lot more expensive to stay at short-term rentals in Canada as Ottawa announced a new tax on Airbnb and other short-term accommodation plat lol nice. AirBnB is ruining metro condo markets and gets around so many regulations that hotels need to follow.

Well deserved considering they have been doing a poor job of cracking down on properties rented out for house parties.

If cities would actually permit enough housing to be built it AirBnB wouldn't have a measurable effect.
CitizenVectron
Just now, Jason said: AirBnB is not the root cause of housing shortages. If cities would actually permit enough housing to be built it AirBnB wouldn't have a measurable effect. That's true to an extent, but in very dense, highly desirable areas (such as Vancouver and Toronto, the main areas in Canada with AirBnB issues), a huge amount (tens of thousands) of condos are just investment vehicles used with AirBnB which has driven up costs. Of course, this is actually preferable in a functional democracy since you can counter-argue...but the Democrats are basically run by people afraid of what the GOP might say about them. They’re already saying that, though, and, that’s despite McConnell sitting on the passed House bill for months before even attempting a gutted version. IMO, the Dems would be best off waiting a few weeks to see what happens in the GA runoff before putting through some compromised BS.
