I know I'll level myself into being OP like any other open world game seemingly but seeing one of those fucking giant hordes creeping over a hill in the distance is unsettling and I immediately nope out every time. I'm starting to develop better tactics but even a group of only a few zombies is a major pain in the ass and possible very quick death right now. I also found out zombies can lunge at you from quite a bit of a distance away to knock you off your bike even at top speed. I assumed racing around them was 100% safe...nope. gamer.tv
So I woke up this morning and after Dad duties found and finished the Face Shrine and now in Eagle Tower. Also went back to sleep at 10am to 1pm and living my best life.
CastlevaniaNut18
I'll be playing more AC Valhalla today. Played last night and it kept crashing. Like four times in under two hours. It's never been that bad.

crispy4000
Picked it up in Humble Choice this month, was pleasantly surprised. It's a perfect couch casual party game. You have a slash, toss and dash, and power-ups that stack on one another and stay across rounds. You can do team matches and turn on bots too. Slicing up fruit with boomerang cutters is truly perfect as casual 'gore.' Moving Out is the more popular co-op game in Choice this month, but don't sleep on this. I can't wait to play it with more people once COVID is over.
gamer.tv
The rotation of Golf Story, Links Awakening and South Park continues. I’ll hopefully finish at least one next week - though Dark Souls has been a bit lost to the aether after I (stupidly) hit the Blacksmith, panic killed him and...yep. I suppose I should ask, will a +6 Claymore be enough for the game now?

You can recruit other npc's and befriend them. Have dinner and tea with them or ask for their assistance in battle. Of course you have side quest that are nothing more than the usual fetch quest filler. You can fish and garden. Its like the game within the game if that makes sense. The meat and potatoes are going on missions and leveling up. If you've never played a FE game you might wanna try one. They are great IMO. Maybe try out one on the 3DS. Those were my absolute favorites.

Jesus, one day I need to list every Nintendo game and check to see what their lifetime win/loss ratio is.
crispy4000
Parts of FFIX have aged wonderfully. But then every once and a while you run into something that's just... oh boy... TL:DW: Son returns to his foster father after looking for his real dad. Foster father proceeds to beat him, then smiles like a psychopath. The adopted son then realizes that this is his home, the place he belongs. How the hell did people excuse this on release? I'd suspect whoever wrote the script has some deep seated personal issues. Fuck child abuse.

Man, i seriously don't see how anyone could be surprised about this stuff in a Japanese game. This is a culture that regularly sexualizes pre-teen girls, and makes dumb excuses for it like "but shes 1000 years old!" But also, it is just a game. No kid was actually abused. But is there some kind of culture norm in Japan where 'home is where the beatings are'? First I've heard of it. 1 hour ago, BloodyHell said: But also, it is just a game. No kid was actually abused. I don't ever watch anime, so figures. It's the manipulative angle which gets me. Perhaps because I've known people that it's happened to and the problems it creates. That's not to take anything away from the issues that Japanese culture has with sex, and those in the West who idolize them for it.
AbsolutSurgen
I'm about 2/3 of the way through AC: Valhalla. IMHO, compared to the previous 2 games, there is a lot more variety in gameplay. My only real issue is that the combat is way too easy, but in reality, that is a general issue I have with most open world games. Its no easier than RDR2 or Witcher 3 was. I found a lull in the 10-25 hour mark -- but I'm finding I'm enjoying the game a lot more since then.

Bloodporne
I've been putting Days Gone on the backburner because apparently Control is absurdly addictive and I'm just plowing through it. I've played like 3 hours every night now and I'm getting bummed out because I assume I'm close to finishing it. I wasn't sure what to make of it in the first hour and found the 'we like David Lynch' mystery shit a bit stilted but it found its groove and once I got into the flow of its gameplay, cool level design and lore, I was really fucking hooked. Also, it plays really damn well in the PS5 Performance mode. The combat feels really smooth and the amount of environmental destruction is something that actually feels more next-gen to me than anything else I've seen despite it obviously not being that. It's one of those things that when I see it happen in Control it makes other game environments feel static in comparison. It continues to amaze me just how many top-tier games, at least for my taste, came out last gen and the PS5 versions were worth the PS5 purchase alone for me so far. Edit: I'm actually really looking forward to whatever Remedy does next now after having written them off for quite some time after Alan Wake played like hot garbage.
