I also caved to my own peer pressure and bought Dead Cells, Hades, Golf Story and Undertale on the Switch just so I have them. I’ve played a tiny bit of Hades (died but didn’t feel like I was shot) and a bit more Dead Cells (died a few times and have no clue what I’m doing), but I think they’ll give me some enjoyment. They both take a couple plays before you learn the nuances of the combat then they get significantly more playable. I'm currently playing Blasphemous which I've been really wanting to play for a very long time. Also my generally daily playing of Langrisser, Arknights and Guardian Tales... probably get some VR time in today as well (nice to have a day I'm not too busy)! 5timechamp
DK:Tropical Freeze- after waiting for a discount the family said screw it and got it for me. It really is a really good game... but being an old fart im definitely not pulling off the precision required to run through the game... its also taken me a while to drop my “Super Mario platforming” habits... they hinder here. -u cant “hold” down a run button -u cant hold down jump button as u land on baddie to jump higher -u cant just hold the “grab” vine button down as you jump from vine to vine.. its hard fighting off bad habits

The combat is so far a bit more chill than stressful souls combat (maybe because there is no stamina bar) and that combined with the soundtrack makes it oddly relaxing. The lore is deep and fantastically disturbing (even more so knowing it's roots). If you are into metroidvania's it's a must buy.
chakoo
Since I think I'm pretty much done with Judgment (the side quest post game haven't really been holding my attention nor do I really care to do the relationship quests), I decided to move over to Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise instead of Yakuza 0 so I don't get burned out again on the series. Atm I'm mostly enjoying how they portray the story but not entirely enjoying the combat which relies way tooo heavily on hitting the "Channeling Points" during combat. I'll probably still keep with the game till I beat it before jumping ship back to yakuza (I want to try beating 0 before the ps5 update to 7/like a dragon hits in march). AbsolutSurgen
Just finished Just Cause 4 -- and... It just didn't get any better as I played it. Still loved the movement mechanics, but was disappointed with just about everything else. I started up Hades -- and am enjoying it so far. I am not any good at it though. Some later bosses are definitely ball-breakers. Regarding the game in general, I bought it Day 1 and rated it a 7/10 but the subsequent tweaks and patches really tightened up the game to a solid 8.5/10 or higher even for me. The just added a pretty major free update a few months ago that improved the map, added additional areas, bosses and lore even I think. I haven't even played all that yet but overall, I think it's a really good game. The ultra-macabre Catholicism and general atmosphere are pretty unique in my opinion. The OST especially is very, very moody in a surprising way. Like DPCyric said, almost relaxing sometimes but it always has an air of eeriness and a religious feel. Overall, there's something very unique about the way it all comes together although it does pull from obvious influences. It's a shame it took a while to be as good as it is now but I think it still sold well enough. I'd thoroughly recommend it if you're into old school Castlevania, Souls and Metroidvanias in general. Bloodporne
Came in to say I'm still playing Alundra (PS1) for short bursts. Haven't had much time to play video games lately. And damn man, this game is tough as nails and it's throwing me off playing a Zelda style game with brutal combat and hard-ass puzzles. It starts innocently enough but it ramped up pretty hard the last few hours I played and it's kicking my ass.

It's Souls hard at WORST maybe. Patterns are very clear and telegraphed so it's always a matter of just paying attention and learning patterns.

It's a great game, I mean really damn good and charming, just surprisingly hard later on. The scarce save points make it really punishing at times. gamer.tv
Three dungeons down in Links Awakening, a +5 Claymore harvested to go to the Depths with and a few rounds of Rocket League under my belt. The Switch has really got me back into a gaming mood and I look forward to that inventive going back to the PS4. I am debating whether I want to buy a Switch Pro Controller for Dark Souls and maybe some future gaming.

Highly recommend it, it’s only $10 and sure beats the price of a new controller.

dualhunter
Doom Eternal crashed on me a couple times. Luckily it was only while replaying a level. First time was at the start, second was a bit later, right after getting the last kill for a weapon mission but still not much lost.

gamer.tv
Found a shortcut to get from the bonfire in the depths to the bottom, so at least the boss won’t be as bad as last time I played (and found no shortcut and gave up). Also more Rocket League which has hit the point now where I’m frequently playing people much better than I am - which happens every time I get back into it - proceeded by me uninstalling the game as it stops being fun. Update: that’s one dead Gaping Dragon thanks to realising you can have two summons and just spam fire and run and chop. Just had a look at Blighttown and was killed by a thing with a club, so I’ll give that more consideration later. Some time later: at the first bonfire in Blighttown and just wandering around, killing things and getting killed. There’s a barbarian and a ghoul at a cave that I’ve died at twice that I sense is the route I want to take, so I’ll give that a go later. AbsolutSurgen
I started playing Hades -- and I am not very good at it. I haven't really played much of this style of game in close to 20 years. My last two runs have had me getting killed in the Temple of Styx. I am still really enjoying it. I am now ~10 hours into AC:Valhalla. I am probably being too completionist about it -- getting all of the wealth/side quests from each area before moving on. While this game holds a lot of commonality from Origins/Odyssey -- it feels like almost every system has been redone. Combat is completely new. The skill tree is brand new. The open world progression is very different. I am REALLY enjoying my time in it so far -- it might be my GOTY from last year.

gamer.tv
I’ve beaten Quelaag. No shame but I was going to use the summon Mildred...and noticed that there were some player summons available. Suffice to say, I took her on with three other characters which made me feel more like the weak kid that kicks someone on the ground after the bullies have done the hard work, but the boss is done! Now to get back to Firelink Shrine, level up some more, upgrade my Claymore and then I’m trying to decide between a return to Darkroot and the door, or Sen’s fortress.
