CitizenVectron
80% of Wyoming's voters won't hear about that, including 90% of Republican voters. Of the 10% of GOP voters who do, over half will agree that while the state GOP is corrupt, they are better than socialist Democrats.

This is why Biden shouldn't implement a mandatory mask mandate or anything of that nature. He should, instead, create a program that states have to qualify to join in order to receive any federal relief money. The qualifications for the program should then be set by the CDC, directly, and still include some combination of a mask mandate, social distancing/indoor gathering restrictions. Labling it a program states can join would be more politically palatable than a broad mandate that everyone is just going to ignore. It also allows Biden to avoid states just giving COVID-19 money to big business or going back on his promise help every state regardless of who they voted for. There likely won't be actual stimulus money, but red states are going to need money soon, especially with all the evictions coming and local hospitals being overrun. Fizzzzle
Oregon is going on lockdown again starting wednesday. My last day at work is Monday I think.
Fizzzzle
The entire state is locking down starting on Wednesday. The whole state for at least 2 weeks, Multnomah/Washington/Clackamas counties (Portland) for at least 4 weeks. Restaurants are back to take-out only (the bar I work at will likely just close temporarily), gyms/salons/barbers are closed, church gatherings are limited to 25 indoors/50 outdoors, grocery stores are limited to 75% capacity Unemployment is hopefully not going to be as big of a shit show this time. Maybe that's why they aren't putting the measures in place until Wednesday. edit: The fucked up thing is that you KNOW restaurants and bars will be packed as much as possible for the next few days. Yay.
ThreePi
Illinois is likely trending the same way. Restaurants already closed to indoor eating, though some have defied the governor's orders. Wonder what happened between the start of November and now. Seems like things had at least held somewhat steady from August-October with limited indoor eating and gyms and such. Shit spiked hard and fast. Wonder if in-person voting was a trigger.

silentbob
So where I live Doug Ford has placed us into the Red Zone of infections. So I guess starting Monday we are limited to 10 people in restaurants and gyms, but theatres will be shutdown again. I believe this will last at least 28 days and more restrictions can be added. b_m_b_m_b_m
Northam has issued more orders, including closing every bar/brewery/etc at 12, stop selling alcohol at 10. Increased mask requirements and enforcement, and reduced public and private gatherings from 250 to 25. We're not that bad now but still higher than we were. Fizzzzle
For the states that are just NOW starting a 10pm curfew for restaurants/etc, mask requirements, et al In oregon, we've had mandatory masks indoors for months, and restaurants/bars have had to close at 10 since we reopened in June or whenever that was. It didn't seem to be enough.

mclumber1
Up until a few weeks ago, my wife was entertaining the idea of driving up to Washington to see my side of the family for Thanksgiving. Even if WA didn't institute this quarantine policy, given the recent spike in cases, she changed her mind, thankfully. I feel bad for our daughter though. She hasn't gotten to see her grandparents or cousins since last Christmas.

Fizzzzle
I'll find it kind of funny the last couple days before lockdown at the restaurant (assuming we close outright and don't do takeout). The reason the governor delayed lockdown until wed. was so restaurants could burn through their inventory. "Can I get a salad?" "Nope." "Can I get a chicken sandwich?" "Nah, but popeyes has some." "What CAN I get?" "You can get the fuck out of here so I can go home and not get covid from your bitch ass "
