I just really have a hard time taking numbers out of states like Florida and Georgia seriously.
Jason
Also the numbers are going up in Georgia, aren't they? It seems like you got New York being hit because it's the east coast hub to Europe, and California being hit because it's the west coast hub to Asia. It wouldn't shock me if states like Georgia did legitimately have less initial exposure to it, but that they've become breeding grounds (hence the numbers going up) due to not taking it seriously. Ricofoley
I know there's a theory that the seasonality gets cancelled out some as it gets really hot and people spend more time in indoor spaces with A/C. It might explain why a bunch of southern states are hotbeds right now. But a lot of the same states are states where you'd expect to see lower mask compliance, so I dunno. Ohh its absolutely the case, winter is still worse because temps below 40 degrees slow your bodies immune response from just a short exposure to it, but extreme heat with A/C forces a similar situation where you don't want to be outside and breath recirculated dry air which also slows immune response and could even spread the virus throughout the building. As the casinos open up, I'm sure those numbers will increase not only locally, but nationwide as we export the virus on the hundreds of weekly flights out of the city. https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/

silentbob
Warner Bros delays Tenet to July 31st I can see this as the first of a couple delays for this movie. I don’t think theatres will be back really until 2021 (if these spikes or continuation of the initial wave are still happening) Them damn Mexicans ruined my summer movie theatre watching
brucoe
Right now, I'm really frustrated, and yeah, I know, no one cares. I live in Texas, and for a short period of time it seemed like things might just start turning around, mainly because everyone was doing what needed to be done, even if it really, really sucked having to stay in all the time and avoid other people. And then the Neanderthal decided he needed to open the country sooner rather than later, and of course, Texas being a red state had to buy into the nonsense. Now, our Coronavirus numbers are starting to increase, and will probably overwhelm the system by the time they're done with it. All so they could allow people to get haircuts, hang out at the beaches and splash around in water parks. Thanks, Texas. When I die, someone please take my ashes and dump them on our governor's head and thank him for his service.

Jason
Quote Pay Wykoff — a 65-year-old Irvine resident who waited weeks to come to South Coast Plaza to get a watch battery and find a Father’s Day present — wore a bright yellow hand-sewn mask but said she thought it was unnecessary. “Not everyone agrees that masks are helpful,” Wykoff said. “I think masks are hurtful because you’re breathing in your own germs.” https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-06-11/orange-county-rescinds-coronavirus-mask-mandate-face-coverings-still-strongly-recommended
