We're about to witness one of the largest cash grabs in the history of the world. The end result of this is going to be a giant widening of power and wealth in the US. Small businesses will be shuttered, but large corporations will gain market-share and power. Same for the wealth controlled by the top 1%.

They've already got a $4T bailout lol they are already there

Arizona is pretty awful.

I find it to be a perplexing state to live in as basically every state around it has a superior version of whatever Arizona does have to offer.

You know, I just posted about how I expect the next step in this game will be for states to increasingly start to attempt to manipulate the numbers downward. And on a state by state basis the governors will do that for their own interests.

But with these new Tweets I think Trump may be doing something even worse. He is going to craft a version of virus denialism not based on the numbers, but on the more abstract idea that the numbers represent a problem.

I think the numbers so far, and what is now projected(at least 100k) are so bad that Trump is making the calculation that everyone he was going to lose over it he has already lost, so he is going to focus on the economy. Have we heard him use the phrase, "it's just a number" when confronted with the death toll yet? Because I suspect we'll be hearing it a lot going forward.

If I had to live down there, I'd choose New Mexico WAY before Arizona.

WHO THE FUCK ARE THE REGULAR FOLKS that Republicans always talk about, if not the people working in a meat packing plant!? Like, is it literally just the 65+ white people who hang out at rural diners?

most people who work in meat packing plants are immigrants and minorities... not sure if that's true in Wisconsin as well, but it's definitely true in other parts of the Midwest.

No, those tend to be poor as well, or almost there, and Republicans hate poor whites almost as much as poor non-whites. That means still violently and "let's kill 'em" levels but just not with as much gusto.

Regular Folks = Bank CEOs

That's it.

Edit: I see @Chairslinger broke out the eloquent version :dab2:

Yeah I'm not buying that. They may not like them very much, but they definitely are a big part of the Republican base especially in the South and midwest. You would think that wouldn't be the case, but it is

Hatch chile is incredibly underwhelming.

I do love my New Mexico Pinon Coffee though.

Hatch chiles are so good that Mexico fucking imports them. How dare you?

I mean the tweet literally explained what was meant by winding down.

The task force did (or should have been doing) a lot more than just the briefings for the press... I didn't think that response was dumb and I believe he was pointing out how ineffectual the "Task force" ultimately was.

Live around these fanatically religious and racist people and it's not hard to see why at all.

Oh I understand that... my grandfather was from South Carolina so I get how much racism and religion drive people in The South. It's just at some point you would think their own self interest would trump their hatred for other people and groups. My buddy who lives in Jacksonville and I talk about this all the time because he deals with this type of racism on a daily basis. It's a culture shock from him because because he was born and raised in the North East.

Just completely ignoring covid would be a new level of failed state status.

They most definitely are, no doubt. I was mainly half-jokingly commenting that I think they view even them as a necessary evil and tool but that's about it. They're only a stepping stone until they're the next ones cast as the villains. I mean look at their policies undercutting everything and anything these people rely on and yet they actually vote for that shit somehow. The only thing they like about poor whites is how easily they've manipulated them. But that comment also went wayward from what Citizen actually said so it doesn't even really apply to his post in the first place :dab2:

Ok, good. Wasn't sure if you had a bad Hatch chile or you didn't know what you were talking about. Now that we have firmly established that it's the latter, I can move on.

My buddy is in a blue collar union in The South and his White union brothers are Trump supporters and almost ALWAYS vote Republican... Square THAT circle if you can.

I'm fairly certain that the tweet is meant to sarcastically imply that the WHTF had to be actually doing something in the first place in order to wind down from doing it.
