ARZ
So...Ghost of Tsushima Looks like reviews go live on 7/14. Only pre-order bonus looks to be a Jin avatar, mini-soundtrack and a PS4 theme. Anyone getting the mask? Looks pretty sweet. Thinking about dropping the extra 10 for the in-game bonuses.
Commissar SFLUFAN
Ghost of Tsushima's Japanese Menu Translations Are a Bit…Off (USgamer) Quote The translated menu items are drawing puzzled stares. Earlier today, the games media was allowed to confirm that they were reviewing Ghost of Tsushima, the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive game from Sucker Punch Productions. Many of these confirmations came with a screenshot of the opening menu of the game. Japanese site Game Watch was one of the outlets to post the menu (via Gematsu), and those with knowledge of Japanese are pointing out that the translation seems a bit off. Commissar SFLUFAN
Score of Tsushima: The Soundtrack of Ghost of Tsushima (PlayStation Blog) Quote Recording was truly a global undertaking, combining input from the composers, Sucker Punch and PlayStation’s internal music department. We recorded strings and brass in London at Abbey Road and Air Studios in addition to soloists and traditional Japanese instruments like koto and shakuhachi. We recorded additional solo traditional instruments including shamisen, percussion and shakuhachi and a taiko ensemble in Tokyo, as well as Buddhist monks from the Honjyuji and Myounji temples who provided chanting for the score. In Los Angeles, we were fortunate enough to enlist the talents of famed Tuvan musician Radik Tyulyush to record Mongolian chants and traditional instruments, and Doctor Osamu Kitajima helped us with recording even more Japanese solo instruments including biwa. SaysWho?
I'll beat TLOU2 in time to start this at launch. I'm wondering more about Persona 5 Royal. I think I beat the fifth palace and there's still a lot of content to go, but I put it on hold for TLOU2, so I think I may have to put it on hold AGAIN once GoT arrives. Phaseknox
The closer that this gets to release, the more interested in it that I become. Reviews will determine if it's something that I buy on day one, or wait to get when it's cheaper.

SoberChef
While I'm curious to hear & read reviews, I don't think I'm going to allow them to sway my opinion of making this a day 1 purchase for me!

CastlevaniaNut18
After TLOU, I'm in a bigger gaming mood, so this is kind of appealing to me more right now. I'm gonna wait for some reviews, but I may very well end up getting this.

The information provided in reviews helps me determine if a game seems like something that I will want to play sooner rather than later, and if I think that it will be worth it to me to pay full price for. I don't care about scores as much as I care about what's said, because I know what I personally like and don't like in games despite if the reviewer feels the same way or not. 2 hours ago, Emperor Diocletian II said: Sounds promising.

Royal is the definitive version of Persona 5? So many versions it's kinda confusing.

Bloodporne
Actually I think I may pick this up before The Last Of Us 2 if combat and gameplay impressions are good. I played through TLoU twice back-to-back and then have been hitting the multiplayer, I need a break but am majorly looking forward to that one as well. Excited for the reviews, let's see how it shakes out.

ShreddieMercury
Yeah I'm gonna cave and get this as well. Second time I beat it on Survivor. I think Grounded is barely any HUD and so on as far as I recall so that's a bit much for me but I will eventually try it down the line. Multiplayer has been a lot of fun and I seriously never play any multiplayer online. The combat is so satisfying though that I needed more of it. I will say that Survivor doesn't allow Listen Mode which does sometimes lead to trial-and-error considering supplies are way more limited than on Hard. At least it did for me. In theory it's the way to play I think but I never abused Listen Mode particularly and also never upgraded it so I think its integration was quite fair and not overbearing. Commissar SFLUFAN
How Ghost of Tsushima teamed with Akira Kurosawa's estate for new cinematic mode Quote The team worked with the estate to name the game's Kurosawa Mode, a cinematic format that mirrors the filmmaker's iconic style. Crafting the world of Tsushima (PlayStation Blog) Quote Tsushima is a real place, a Japanese island located between the Japanese mainland and the Korean Peninsula. We visited Tsushima multiple times during the project, a beautiful place crowded with mountains and dense forests. Green covers what seems like every inch of the island, a rolling tree line from the top of the mountains all the way down to the ocean. However, our version of Tsushima is not a 1:1 recreation of the real-life counterpart — it’s a love letter to all of its parts. We took essential elements of the island, mixed with some inspirations from mainland Japan, and built this unique world for Ghost. During our trips, we recorded birds and nature sounds and photo-scanned leaves from Tsushima island, and used them in the actual game. This was a way for us to bring a little piece of the real island of Tsushima to you.
