elbobo
I was highly skeptical about them doing a kid centric cast but that actually looks great.
silentbob
I liked it and the mysterious nature of the trailer. Really see no ghosts present and no theme music either, but it worked
CitizenVectron
I am curious to see (and also worried) about how the online discussion of this film is going to go. Will people see it as a backlash to the 2016 movie? Will people celebrate that it's happening vs the 2016 movie? I predict some ugly opinions. Brick
That looked pretty good, although weird that there were no jokes in this trailer since Ghostbusters is a comedy.
Mercury33
That looks great! And at least it seems to be an example of “only make a sequal when you’ve got a story worthy to tell”.

TwinIon
Could be fun. Nothing about this movie sells me right away, but there's potential.
legend
I'm interested. Feels like Stranger Things meets Ghostbusters; they even share a star!

Having a kid cast is off putting for me at least.
Brick
They push the nostalgia hard in this trailer. Really selling the "return of Ghostbusters" after three decades. It's like the trailers for The Force Awakens.
EternallDarkness
Stranger Things the movie. The trailer alone was better than the entire previous Ghostbuster film.
Guest
I’ve never been much if a fan of the original films, and this trailer is all “hey, remember this!?!” about stuff from the originals...so didn’t do much for me.
Spawn_of_Apathy
So, after the last film they did a post mortem and decided in its after life to make a sequel of the original films.
skillzdadirecta
That looks pretty fun to me. Like a throwback movies like the Goonies.
DarkStar189
That does look alright! Much better than I expected. I said it before though, I'm tired of seeing Finn Wolfhard in the same type of role. Seeing him in this with a shot of the town just looked like "It". ort
My kids love the ghostbusters franchise (all 3 movies and cartoon) and thought this trailer was the best thing ever.

Brick
Based off that video I think this could be something special. Regardless of what you thought overall of the 2016 movie, and the garbage nonsense MRAs made out of it, it was a clear cash grab to use the IP to try and make money. This movie feels like an honest, heartfelt sequel of a son wanting to continue what his father started.
DarkStar189
I've only watched that first trailer from a year or two ago and might try continuing to avoid the rest. Seems like it could be pretty cool.

Brick
Why did I see a quick ad for the DualSense in that?
elbobo
Still looks awesome but I am confused about the nature of the world. This is a direct sequel, no quasi-reboot or anything like that but it seems like no one has any knowledge of the crazy shit that happened in the first two movies. There was a giant marshmallow man attacking NYC and then a slime powered Statue of Liberty walked through the streets, this is stuff that would make the history books. All they need is a quick throwaway line about QAnon and Trump insisting it didn't happen, then it will be believable that no one thinks it existed. I'm confused on how you came to this conclusion that no one has any knowledge of the crazy shit that happened. She's watching the Ghostbusters tv commercial at 1:22 in the new trailer. They haven't shown many characters in the trailers besides the main cast.

I believe they know nothing about them until Paul Rudd saw the trap the kid brings into class in the teaser trailer. He tells them who the Ghostbusters are via the YouTube videos you see them watching in the new trailer.

It would be common knowledge. However maybe they are going to lean into the idea that the ghostbusters faked the whole thing somehow to make money and it was a giant scam so the original crew are all discredited.
