Mercury33
Is this connected to the Dark Universe or did they ditch that idea cause this looks awesome
Ghost_MH
So this feel like one of the best examples of showing the entire movie in the trailer. I'm not one to freak out over spoilers, but wow does this trailer show a lot of the film.

Greatoneshere
This is not connected to the Dark Universe at all and is written and directed by Leigh Whannell, who most recently gave us the excellent Upgrade.
sexy_shapiro
The Dark Universe Invisible Man was a different movie. Johnny Depp was to star and he was to be the protagonist, not the villain. The Dark Universe films were to have more of an action/adventure vibe than straight horror, and this new Invisible Man looks to have a completely different tone than Cruise’s Mummy. Anyways, letting Blumhouse have a swing at this was a smart decisions. Horror movies don’t have to be 200 mil budget mega hits. They can be low to mid budget and attract a dedicated audience if it works.
