Dodger
I can't remember exactly when my dad got it for me but I was a Genesis kid growing up after having an NES. Damn I feel old.

Dodger
I even had a Sega CD. I remember a game Racing Aces which I played the shit out of. Also had the best console Mortal Kombat at the time, but the load times were ridiculous. Most of those FMV games sucked though.

The occasional cable problems kind of sucked, though, but man, going through those lists of games, it was the streaming service before all the 21st century streaming services. XxEvil AshxX
I never owned a SEGA or a Genesis when I was younger. I just bought the Genesis collection on the Switch, and man, I didn't miss much lol.
JosephManderley
Excellent article in The Guardian today about the Genesis / Megadrive: https://www.theguardian.com/games/2019/aug/16/sega-genesis-at-30-mega-drive-console-modern-games-industry Saddens me to see what became of Sega, although they seem to be doing better now than a few years back. GameDadGrant
I have my Genesis hooked up to my home office TV. Still play some Castle of Illusion, Rocket Knight, Splatterhouse 2/3, Castlevania Bloodlines and Virtua Racing.

CastlevaniaNut18
Genesis might be my second favorite retro console...behind SNES.
Rodimus
Love the Genesis. I remember picking it up. It came with Altered Beast but I bought Castle of Illusion as well. I also had a sega cd. I still have it hooked up. I plan to get the Genesis mini. I want a Mega SD.
chakoo
I'm a few days late but here is my contribution to Happy Birthday Genesis. Genesis does what Genesis does best... Hanging out in a hot tub.
