The Democrats actually own the popular plans and ideas (and their failure to capitalize on that is a whole nother story). The media ALWAYS wants Democrats to move right but never ever suggests that Republicans move left. Basically, fuck Tapper, CNN, and every cable news pundit. It's actually worse, Tapper said after the debate he tied to frame the questions as if Biden was on stage.
CitizenVectron
Saw a good tweet from CNN that said something like "Democrats fall into Trump's trap, spend much of debate arguing over socialism." Except...CNN was the one who made the questions...

Guest
Sanders and Warren are in a weird spot, they need the other to fade or exit all together but also can’t attack one another at risk of alienating their supporters. I can see the scenario where Biden continues to poll in the low to mid 30s and that being enough because the majority of Dem primary voters split on Warren and Sanders. It’s gonna be Trump v Biden, guys.

They need the other to poll worse but they probably realize that they need to frame the debate and fight for their ideas within the primary so they're more acceptable to the establishment. For now, they probably are more comfortable just tag teaming as they did and taking on the entire centrist lane and then fighting each other later. For sure, it is a timing question more than anything. But if it gets down to a three way race between Biden/Warren/Sanders with fairly even support amongst them, Biden has a strong chance to get the plurality of delegates despite the progressive wing representing the majority of votes. Their best chance might be if a fourth candidate who eats into Biden’s base can stick around fairly deep into the actual contests to block Biden from getting wins. I thought the first debate went pretty poorly for Biden, but he’s right back where he has been in polling. I think he is like Trump in that most of his worst attributes are pretty well baked into the polls at this point, especially due to Biden’s longevity in the spotlight. Everybody knows who he is and nothing is a surprise.

If it's a 3-way, Warren and Sanders would have problems. But I think among Buttigieg, Harris, Booker, Gillibrand... basically, people who could potentially do well enough to stay in the debates and are savvy enough to go after Biden, one or two of them could fight it out with Biden. It really depends on who drops out through December, and then how Iowa ends up shaking out.

None of it could be further from the truth, and she’s the best candidate out there, but the progressives need their false narratives as much as Trump does. How is that tax or even the estate tax any different conceptually than a "wealth tax"? Because the wealth tax “attacks” the very people who fill their coffers. C’mon, you know damn well a wealth tax isn’t going to happen. Neither side of congress would vote for it. They aren’t going to vote to diminish their own wealth.
