AbsolutSurgen
Blackmagic Design Announces Blackmagic eGPU for MacBook Pro $699 $699 for a 580!
TwinIon
It's overpriced because it's for Apple products, there aren't many alternatives, and it's aimed at professionals, but it's not as horribly overpriced as it may seem. At work I have a dell thunderbolt dock that charges my laptop and what not, and it's $300 by itself.
RedSoxFan9
It’s not a bad deal considering the price of thunderbolt docks.
Emblazon
If I keep working on high profile animated videos for work, I'm definitely going to request one. Is it only compatible with this week's MBP update? Or all USB-C MBPs?
Nokt
The only experience I have with Blackmagic is I had their Intensity Capture Card. It might have been the only uncompressed card on the market at the time, but man did that software suck. Had to contact support multiple times to get it to work and it was always software related. If they haven't stepped up their game I'd avoid the crap out of this too. But then again I don't own a mac and probably never will again. AbsolutSurgen
Of course, there are alternatives that are much better.... An eGPU with a GTX-1080 in it for the same price from Gigabyte...
