It's just deliberately cheap. Not fun at all.

It's basically the worst of all worlds in one boss. His openings are very short for the amount of damage he does, he can stunlock you into a OHKO combo if you're knocked off your horse, unpredictable follow-up strikes after set combos so even going in on openings is often a gamble and then well...we go full OHKO insta-kill with not one but four meteorite summons each able to do said insta-kill.

Oh also that obnoxious opening where arrows hitting you or not feels random. Over and over.

Just an incredibly obnoxious boss so far. I would have no issue beating him if it wasn't for the cheap-ass meteorite cop-out.

I also think he looks stupid on top of it. Wtf is that silly-ass horse!?

Radahn is not a gimmick nor is it badly designed. I've seen people say he is the new bed of chaos. He isn't. He is an honest boss fight just like any other and can be made into a total joke if you use the festival mechanic. I find the damage he outputs to be no different than the other bosses in the game, as nearly evey boss ends up 2-3 shotting you once you make it far enough into the game. The only legit bad part of the Radahn fight is the massive distance they put between you and the boss.

Just randomly found Atlus Plateau. Found the first site of Crace and called it a day for now. I’m Lv 50 so… am I ready for this place or no?

Nah. Not the best place for you yet. Lvl 70 maybe?

Finished at 106 tonight. Found a place with just crazy runes, less than hour and I got 30 levels farming a single spot. I definitely think im powerful enough for end game. I have 4 great runes. I want to kill the last shardbearer, Mogh, Malenia, a few world bosses and little things before I go after the ending.

My mimic tear ashes are too stupid powerful and almost feels unfair.

Well, you're the only person Ive seen who thinks so. Most people agree its a cheap gimmick.

Friendly npc? Who?

Man, I'm lucky I looked up it up before I went on a rant but lol I thought that Melania or whatever was the chick who gave you the horse. Their names are super fucking similar and I haven't seen that chick in over 60 hours.

I mean, not that many people are having trouble beating it, it's just a terrible fight.

It really isn't. Pro tip, get off your horse and fight him like a normal boss. He is literally a normal boss like Margit or Godrick if you fight him that way. When you are on your horse you don't have the iframes to dodge his stronger magic attacks. The only time you should, imo, be on you horse is to out run the rain of death and the phase transition. At least if you are a melee build.

Oh, they aren't the same people at all. No, Malenia is just a boss. I didn't think a name was a spoiler.

Edit: I can't remember my finger maidens name either.

Thats how I beat him. Well, second phase. It was still a shitty, gimmick fight. Feel however you want, I think it was the cheapest fight in the game that ive done so far, and ive killed a ton of bosses.

I’m not sure if I made any progress towards the main story today or not. I did beat the fake invasion in the table room finally so that’s cool. Mostly got a lot of smithing stones and leveled up to 52 today so I’m a lot more powerful and have a lot of places I can warp to and got some uh stuff I guess. I made it to this one area I think I’m supposed to go to but it needs a key and idk where that would be so now I’m exploring this carinan study hall place but idk if it’s just another optional area or not.

Are you guys saying Radahn is a gimmick boss? I mean I guess there's a "gimmick" of the summons but they do little more than distract him, do piss poor damage, and get trampled by his tiny horse. The only time I used my horse on that fight was to get away from his big fireball attack/transition to phase 2.

Black Knife Assassin boss...

Excuse Me Reaction GIF by One Chicago

The one in front of Big Hairy's building? That was the hardest fight in the game for me by far as of yet. If you don't have the HP to survive a hit against each of its attacks, the difficulty just goes up and up, especially if you have low damage output. I've watched in horror as the fucker just decimated my tankiest ashes summon (which I save for when I'm really getting my ass kicked, always keep my favorite one fully upgraded) in a few hits.

Finally leveled up enough and got good enough armor to survive his hardest hitting attack, which I promptly dodged over and over since I was no longer panicking and finally brought him down. Crazy what less pressure does.

This game just continues to blow me away by its sheer size and scope.  Always think I've almost seen it all then you uncover more and more.  I still haven't even ventured to the northeast area of the map yet either.

I'm around Lvl 110 right now, but my build for the important stats as I'm melee only are.

Vigor - 30

Endurance - 30

Strength - 45

Dexterity - 22

No boss has felt gimmicky or too difficult.  Some of the smaller enemies out in the open are more difficult for me than the bosses.  They do throw a lot of 2/3 v 1 fights as you go on, and those are always tricky in Souls games. The summons does help though.  I've been using Stormhawk as my Summon.

Im 106. My Dex and str are both 37 (40 with the scarseal talisman), vigor and endurance are 26 and 27 respectively.

I put my intelligence up to 15 so I can use a weapon.

Im about at the point where I want to respec when i get back from my trip because I am definitely seeing how I could have built my character better. Plus I have 5 points in arcane I want to move.

I mean, I'm not saying that. I am saying he is a totally normal boss and is no worse than any other mechanics wise outside of having to travel 600 yards to hit him with my sword. IMO, if Radahn is considered badly designed then so are like 90% of all the other bosses.

I wish some of you could come over to my place and help me with this game. I'm missing out on so much even though I feel I'm doing pretty good in advancing. But I'd love to know everything you guys do.

Online help is confusing for me, too.

Finished the Academy last night. Boss wasn’t hard at all but was a fun fight. That asshole knight that’s guarding the elevator up to her is hands down the cheapest stupidest fuck youiest enemy I’ve faced so far. Fuck that guy.

Weird. I literally just cut him down almost immediately on my way to the boss. I kinda forgot about him, tbh.

I thought Renalla was easy, but also incredibly fun to fight.
