You better get used to those gargoyle imps cos they just get jerkier with each dungeon.

 

On another note, I did the dungeon way in the beginning yesterday with the Ulcerated Tree boss...goddamn. That was ballbusting.

 

And @Dimdenwas right. I had to experiment more. I jacked my Rapier way up and added a killer Ash of War. The speed combined with the damage is really damn fun. Rapiers have great movesets.

I did a search, they are beautiful books. If they get announced, I'll definitely try to buy one. The prices on the out of print ones seem to preclude completing the collection though.

I have Rogiers Rapier at like +12, but I honestly haven't even equipped it yet. I use my Bloodhound Fang, Icerind Hatchet, and my lance on my horse, because it wrecks shit.

Took me two tries because I went in very poorly equipped the first time. Ran back and completely decimated him the second time. I added blood grease, and carved him up like a turkey dinner.

I wish PvP was easier to get into more frequently. I feel like in past Souls games there'd be red summon signs everywhere. Now I see mostly golden ones.

 

I need more PVP and at this point from a build POv I have the gear I want to use the onky question is halberd or commander's standard. I only really care about aquiring upgrade items for weapons and I guess Ashes of War because if I go halberd again I want to pick a better ash. Oo also need that ghoststuff. I have a mimic summon now.

Played another 6 hours today and didn't make as much progress as I did yesterday.

 

55 hours in and level 71.

 

I finally went to go beat Flying Dragon Agheel. Then me and my nephew beat Magma Wyrm Makar. 

 

I unlocked a big portion up north which has cool music and an awesome/creepy environment. Finding the sombering stones to enhance my sword has been a bitch.

 

I finally called it quits with fighting Starcourage Radahan. Holy fuck is he powerful. I stood no chance. 

 

I still think it one of the better games to come out in a few years. It's extremely addicting and challenging.

Outside of the first zone, I do find there are less actual little caves and "dungeons", but more open world areas that require you to clear them more like a Dungeon or Story area.

 

And I'm pretty sure I've missed a lot in the 2nd and 3rd areas thus far.  I was pretty thorough in Liurnia, but still some visable areas I don't know how to get to yet, and some side story stuff I still need to progress.

 

I only just started in Atlus Plateau too, and ran through it a bit too quick so need to start getting more in depth with exploration.

You have to kill the kid she is controlling. It has an orangish aura around it's head and is the one throwing books at you. There are two phases so be quick about the initial phase to save healing and such for phase 2.

For radagn, are you summoning the npc's?

 

I had a much different path to him than my friend. My friend had to fight through his castle and struggled to him, while I followed the Renni quests and just waltzed in, invited to a celebration.  Completely different paths to the same outcome.

You have to kill the stupid glowing book throwers on the floor, then she crashes down and you destroy her, I had to do it twice. Phase 2 is easier.

Yea, I summoned every character you can and when I go in to take shots he absolutely destroys me. 

 

I had a similar experience like you as I just walked right in to fight him.

Is a two stage fight! I was happy, for a moment. I exclaimed, yes! then quickly crashed back to Earth as I realized that a cutscene had loaded. The cut scene took its sweet time slow walking her death dealing 2nd form on to the stage. No survivors :sadsun:

Exploration in this continues to be absurd. Just randomly discovered some huge cliffside "village" with bats everywhere and a Magma Dragon boss at the end. I went down there expecting a fucking small side dungeon not THAT.

 

There's something about the insane scale and verticality of everything dwarfing your character that makes exploring feel extra good.

 

Also had a massive comeback fight against that boss. He totally destroyed me at first. Turned it around and smashed his ass with no flasks left about halfway through.

Good job. I found a place to farm runes. You get 2k a shot and it takes 30 seconds to do. Every time I log in a go there first to level up. So when I explore or try bosses I have 0 runes on me.

When I play tomorrow I'll post the location in here. You ride your horse down a hill and a big ball appears behind you. You have to make a sharp right to avoid it at the last second. The ball falls off the cliff and "dies" giving you 2k runes. It's fun and extremely rewarding.
