People are going to make dumb arguments and complain about this stuff regardless.  Steam forums for the game freaked out over the minimum requirement being a GTX 1060 and that "FROM CAN'T OPTIMIZE FOR PC!" because the game will be available for OG consoles.

I mean there are optimization problems and then there is choosing to not cap your game that comes nowhere close to 60fps. It’s just a terrible decision. Especially to have two modes and have both be that way.

Edit: And sorry, I don’t mean to poo poo a   hype thread, it’s exciting that it has a damn 97 meta! That just seriously surprised me, it’s simply an objectively wrong way to set your game and I can’t believe nobody stoped them, even if it’s fixed in the d1p, I’m surprised it went that far even.

Fucking 97 meta and now I’m thinking I might have to add this to my From rage quit in the first section of the game pile!

Have faith! Maybe you, me, and Biggie can succeed in this game if we put our minds to it! :p

If this game kicks my ass I'm going to have a sad. I want a good challenge but I also want to progress and enjoy myself. Maybe I'm delusional. :(

You're overthinking it. They're actually really fun games in my opinion. Everyone walked into them not knowing ANYTHING about it when they first came out. Some of my favorite aspects were that sense of complete mystery and learning about the world, the systems. I also just read that Elden Ring has the most forgiving respawn mechanic vs. the old bonfire placements and so on, which will invite much more experimentation for newer players I believe.

These games are tough in a way maybe SNES games were or something. It's not that they require some masterful reflexes and prowess, it's more about observing and learning the 'levels'. Like you're never asked to memorize crazy combo strings or flick aim or things other games require that I'd consider much more difficult.

These games are an absolute joy in terms of exploration, you shouldn't worry about builds and all that stuff. Just jump in and enjoy the depth of the worlds these guys come up.

Also, play with headphones if that's an option. These games have great sound design.

Awesome. Thank you for the post. Yes, I'm wearing headphones.

It allows your tv to adjust the hz to match the frame rate of the game. Without vrr, so like for 98% of people right now, the game is going run terrible and be a stutter and/or screen tear fest if that isn’t fixed in the d1p. Vrr will let the performance mode run well for you.

Edit: You’ll want to still use performance as LG oled vrr limit is 40 before LFC kicks in which won’t look as smooth

Wait so is this not worth getting for the PS5 right now? Didn’t realize it didn’t support VRR.

Im not sure what the full details are yet or if the day one patch (tm) helps fix anything or not but either way I’m assuming the ps4 pro version will run locked 60 worst case scenario and it’s a free upgrade so you can just buy it on ps4 to get both versions.

This would be a game changer for me if true. My issue with the Souls games was never that they were hard, but that they made you retread ground before you could practice the hard part. (This is similarly why very few Rogue Likes click with me).

This is aexactly what they addressed in this game to make it more accessible.
