Biggie
I’m a soccer noob but I do enjoy watching it and I’m learning. Is it just me or Ronaldo > Messi ?

In this World Cup, yeah. Overall, you could make a legitimate case for either player. I prefer Messi's style as he is a absolute genius with the ball. It's like a ballet with him as he dances through opponents. Ronaldo is more of the physical freak type player.
Biggie
Wow. In the matches I’ve watched so far he hasn’t moved like that at all. @Amazatron

Maybe the weight of his WC legacy got to him and that this Argentina team isn't very good.

I think one goal will do it for the Germans.
Pikachu
Ouch, down 3-0 now. Mexico has to hope Germany draws or score two goals and hope Germany gets only 1 goal.

SaysWho?
Damn, Germany is kicked out of the World Cup, making them another World Cup Champion who did poorly the following tournament.

I never understood this. It’s not like NFL, NBA, NHL, or MLB where each season is continuous year to year. The World Cup is only every 4 years! A lot can happen in 4 years. Players retire, get old, get injured, etc.

Pikachu
It's a little more shocking for Germany because they haven't been knocked out from the Group Stage since 1938. But I agree in principle that you can't expect the same level of play every 4 years.

They have no one to blame but themselves. They went up twice vs Japan and let them back in. Against Colombia they were wasteful.
