And you are indeed right, that CGI was rough as hell. Almost seemed like it wasn't finished, like the special effects guys had tossed some stuff together to give the director a rough idea of what it was going to look like and then never went back and finished. Yeah, I felt the same on the CG & was genuinely surprised to see such poor work in a big "blockbuster" film. I think they blew their budget on the Baba Yaga scene, that bit was a great mix of practical & CGI work. The rest was just awful.

About the only redeeming thing it has going for it is it's supposedly a very hard R. phrasing

Bloodporne
I already saw it when it was helmed by a good director and had great actors in it.

Shit, I didn't realize it's the guy who made Dog Soldiers and The Descent before bashing the dude solely based on how lame and unnecessary this looks when the Del Toro films exist. That's a valid assessment, as I hadn't realized he was the director until entering this thread. Perhaps it's simply a case of the studio shoving its own head deep up its ass. Greatoneshere
I guess no one read my initial posts in this thread which credited all of Neil Marshall's great films, etc.
Rodimus
I was interested in this. Then the RT score so low. I will see the movie just skip seeing it in theaters and catch it later on video.
