Spork3245
Ethanol is a terrible gasoline replacement whether it's sugar or corn. A car running E85 (via a tune if the engine is E85 ready, which is typically 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline) will get ~70-80% of the mpg of gasoline... and it costs more per gallon (without subsidies). Electric vehicles are certainly the future and where money should be invested.

The tariffs will undergo a two-month review process, with hearings Aug. 20-23.

Jason
Spineless Ryan pretends not to know Congress can override a veto. Quote Here’s the reality. Back in September of 2016, the Obama administration vetoed a bill that was supported by large bipartisan majorities in both houses of Congress. Consequently, Congress voted to override his veto. PaladinSolo
Hatch sent a letter to the WH saying if it doesn't back off the tariffs hes going to begin to work on legislation to stop them. “As you are aware, members of the Senate are increasingly considering legislation to reduce trade authorities that Congress has delegated to the President,” the Utah Republican wrote in a letter obtained by The Wall Street Journal. “I am sympathetic to those efforts. If the administration continues forward with its overreliance on tariffs, I will work to advance legislation to curtail Presidential trade authority.” The letter, sent to the White House earlier this week, is notable because Mr. Hatch has been one of Mr. Trump’s most steadfast allies. He ushered through the Senate Mr. Trump’s signature legislative achievement—a $1.5 trillion, 10-year tax cut—and as a former Judiciary Committee chairman is now working to boost support for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. “I strongly urge you to reconsider the reckless guidance you have received on trade policy from some of your advisors.” And he urged Mr. Trump to redirect his energies toward “open discussions with China on improving protection for American intellectual property, ending the forced transfer of American technology and trade secrets, and increasing market access for American businesses.”
