Guest
Hadn’t planned on it, but just snagged tickets for tonight. Here’s hoping for a good offensive night.
Guest
That was awesome. Too bad the Astros pitching rotation is screwed up, but maybe best for Greinke to start game 1 here in Houston.

Brian
Tanaka is a different pitcher in the playoffs. Great game by the Yanks.

Guest
Just got to the car. Minute Maid was a mad house when Correa smacked that homer! I’m exhausted.

Brian
Yanks starting pitchers are mess outside Tanaka. Pulling Paxton after 2 innings because he was “tipping” his pitches is bizarre. Severino never goes more than 4 these days. Game 4 will be bullpen by committee according to Boone. The bullpen is ok, but it isn’t good enough to win a 7 game series. Without some starting pitching, the yanks are going to need their bats to win this series. Get used to 4 hour plus game with all of these pitching changes. Guest
A “bad” Gerrit Cole start and the Astros are still up 4-0 in the bottom of the 7th. Feeling pretty good, but the Yanks have a great lineup so it could change quickly!

Brian
Didi’s hit with two men on would have been a homerun regular season. Without the juiced balls, the yanks lineup isn’t as dangerous. Ultimately, Yanks don’t have the starting pitching to win. Nate just proved how important SP is

Guest
Well, I think Hinch made a bad call regardless of how it plays out. He just announced that Verlander will start game 5. The doomsday scenario now is that the Yankees win games 4 and 5 and force the Astros to throw Cole in game 6, and then go Urquidy/Bullpen in game 7. If they win game 4, I can at least see the thought about trying to close out the series in game 5 with JV, and thinking Urquidy will be more likely to get a win at home than in Yankee stadium. But right now you have a guarantee of a game 6 start by Verlander on regular rest, and if need a game 7 start by Cole. Why get so cute with it?
