nublood
RDR2? God of War? Holding out judgement for an upcoming game? Tetris lol? RDR2 is gorgeous but that’s about it. It’s fun at times and I can see the appeal. But it’s not my personal GOTY. I’m gonna try GOW for the first time in a few days and I’ve heard great things. We’ll see how I like it. What about you guys? What say you D1P??

CastlevaniaNut18
God of War. It started out slow, but once I got into it, it was great. I really appreciate the direction they took the series and look forward to its future. I really thought RDR2 would easily take the top spot, but it just doesn't do it for me. Too many stupid flaws. crispy4000
The only current year games I've played so far are Dragon Quest XI and Celeste. Of those two, DQXI wins. Go pick it up. It's $30 on PS4 right now.
Paperclyp
It’s between Dragon Quest and RDR 2. I’m really into RDR and think it lives up to the hype. I had a lot of fun with monster hunter too.

Amazatron
Dragon Quest XI, pretty much the perfect JRPG for me.
TwinIon
Spider-Man. It's not the most technically impressive game, and it does little to push open world games forward as a genre, but it was the most fun I had playing a game this year. It also adheres best to my number one rule of video games: don't waste my time. Spider-Man doesn't waste a second (when it's not loading). Combat is fast and fluid, getting around the map is both easy and fun, and you're never far away from something to do. There is a lot to admire about both GoW and RDR2, but Spidey is an easy choice for me.

legend
The last two games I played were RDR2 and then GoW. It's currently GoW, but I still have Spiderman and AC:Od to play. While I liked RDR2 on the whole, it's unlikely to crack my top 5 of the year when all is said and done.
Commissar SFLUFAN
I've only played one game released in 2018 and that's God of War which I would be hesitant to give my personal GotY award to anyway. So, I'm gonna go with Prey.

skillzdadirecta
I haven't finished RDR 2 yet but so far it's definitely in my top five. I also haven't played Odyssey yet, but that's because I'm still playing Origins

I'm betting I'm going to enjoy Spiderman and AC:Od more than RDR, which makes 3 above, and then I also really enjoyed Pillars 2 (more niche for sure) and I think I'd also put Far Cry 5 above it, because its campaign in coop was a ton of fun. Most of the Switch games I played a lot of this year came out earlier, but I might have to review that game list.

stepee
GOW, RDR 2, Spider-man, Celeste, Astrobot. All of them close but GOW takes the top spot. I still need to play more AC and some of my favorites that may have taken a spot are switch releases but the games didn’t actually come out this year. Like ys8, undertale, Okami. Honorable mentions: Starlink Tetris Effect Not counting because it’s not fully released yet so I’ll count for next year: Life is Strange
Moa
My God I think it's Forza Horizon 4. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game, but usually I go for the soulful indie titles that actually try to push storytelling in games forward, and I feel like none of those types of games came out this year. Anyone have any recommendations?

Man_of_X
God of War, RDR2 and Spider-Man are my 1, 2, 3. AC comes in right after, but all are excellent.
LazyPiranha
I've only started Hitman 2 so I don't know where that will sit at then end of the day. So far though I'd say the major contenders are as follows: Dead Cells Celeste Into the Breach Donut County
Dre801
Spent the year playing older games. FH4 is the only 2018 release I've played this year, so I guess it's my GOTY by default.
