We need a montage of Jeff Probst getting the tape and then taking a jet ski across the ocean to deliver it to a live studio audience in NYC.

What a hell of a way to open SNL.

It could definitely move the needle, but liberals are terrible at timing.

People still don't seem to appreciate the fact that in the age of Trump winning is all that matters. And the election is how you win.

Releasing anything like this isn't going to do a damn thing on a random Tuesday in May. You release it a week and a half or two weeks from election day. Long enough so that it permeates the media sphere, but not so long as to give the rightwing media a chance to whitewash it completely.

Make it the last thing those disengaged, low info voters think of when they go into the booth.

This has low key been a "fingers crossed" hope for me for a while now. That someone not only has a damning surprise for Trump but also the savvy to wait for the right time.

Even the pussy tape was poorly timed as it was right before the second debate in October and it gave Comey time to say he was opening another investigation into Clinton.

20-year NDA expired for producer of The Apprentice:

Trump called a contestant the n-word on tape, basically.

Tom Arnold made this claim like back in 2016 during the run up to the election. Justice for Tom Arnold!

Im sorry but is there a living soul who actually thinks trump never used the N word in his life or something? I just don’t think it’s a big gotcha even if the tape could be released.

It’s like hah but now we have PROOF he said it! But it’s not really something that even needs proof. If you care or not that he’s racist will come across in your vote either way.

Also here is the relevant section so you don’t have to read this fucker drone onnnnnnn

“The conversation was focused on who would win the show’s first season.

‘Yeah,’ he says to no one in particular, ‘but, I mean, would America buy a n— winning?’

He added that Trump “is serious, and he is adamant about not hiring Jackson.”

I'm not even sure that the tape actually surfacing would necessarily significantly impact the apparent increase in Trump's level of support among African-American men as they probably have "baked-in" Trump's racism into their perception of him already.

While I agree with both of you there is something to be said for the average voter (aka, low IQ people) having weird red lines about certain things. Anyone who bothered to learn about Trump before 2016 would know with how he behaves and the rumors about him and the things he would say etc. that he's a sexist, misogynist sexual assaulter yet the "grab them by the pussy" tape was shocking to the average voter when it's poorly timed release (should have been closer to the election) happened. I think the same applies here that while at this point no one should be shocked or surprised to find Trump is blatantly racist (many examples already exist) that for the average voter, hearing him talk "raw" and vulgar like that in the same way he did with regard to women would probably change some minds, or at least solidify those minds who were previously on the fence for whatever reason.

I think we frequently give the general electorate far too much credit. It takes a lot for them to truly be aghast at something Trump said (plenty still voted for him in 2020 despite all we knew by that point about him). Things were different eight years ago when the pussy tape dropped when people knew "less" about Trump generally but the n-word tape certainly wouldn't help him. I think there's something to be said for something so direct and forward in how blatantly bad it is compared to something private or behind closed doors like hush money payments for porn stars or raping a woman in a clothing store that becomes "he said vs. she said" for a lot of average people. If, say, a tape came out showing the rape, suddenly peoples' perception changes. Say there was even audio of the proposition for sex with Stormy Daniels and Trump had said something that got recorded like: "Melania just had Barron, her pussy is useless and you look like my daughter, now call me daddy" that changes everything. None of us here doubt that even without some ridiculous (and gross) audio clip like that, that Trump has weird feelings for his daughter, paid off a porn star to keep her quiet for an election and cheated on his wife with her right after she birthed his child. The average voter has basically accepted this too, if they've been bothering to follow politics at all these past eight years (which, I admit, may be unlikely for some).

But if they heard just that one audio clip, suddenly it's not so easy to ignore even though Trump is sitting in criminal court on trial for this. People love obvious and overt, un-ignorable, raw, disgusting proof of something. I don't think we'll ever see the n-word tape either, but it would definitely be a red line for some even though that's stupid because he's said and done worse but, again, the average voter is generally uninformed/stupid and likes theatrics (good or bad) to help decide their vote to some degree.

Tbf you gotta do that with Biden too! Just a lesser degree. I would be absolutely shocked if he never in his life referred to someone by the N word also.

I haver zero doubt that practically every white man of that era used that word to some degree or another.

The jury has reached a verdict.

Quote

Judge Juan Merchan told the courtroom that the jury has reached a verdict.

In reading a note from the jury, Merchan said: “We the jury have a verdict. We would like an extra 30 minutes to fill out the forms if that’d be possible.”
