Amazatron
For 12 years, everyone who has appeared before me on the D.C. Circuit has praised my judicial temperament,” Kavanaugh said. “That’s why I have the unanimous, well qualified rating from the American Bar Association.” The ABA also came up during Lindsey Graham’s red-faced rant about the injustices perpetrated against Kavanaugh. “Here’s my understanding, if you lived a good life people would recognize it. Like the American Bar Association has, the gold standard,” Graham said. ABA: "Umm, no." Republicans: "Eh, stupid liberal institution."
marioandsonic
I won't be awake for the committee meeting tomorrow. I can't wait to wake up to hear the news that they're going through with the confirmation...

It still needs to pass on the Senate floor, and that is probably less guaranteed.

PaladinSolo
Manchin, Murkowski, Collins, and Donnelly are all expected to vote the same way, so basically whatever Murkowski and Collins decide is how the group goes. Red state dems McCaskill and Jones are voting no.
PaladinSolo
Heres a look at Kavanaugh from the NYTs district polling. The GOP patting themselves on the back is likely way too early.

There's the argument that we need people like you in red states, but things are so insane right now that at some point your psychological health has to take precedence. Maybe Colorado? They have some more liberal areas and otherwise might have the kind of environment you like? (speculating, of course)

PaladinSolo
Flake's vote was never really in doubt, its Collins and Murkowski's votes that will determine everything, if they vote no, all the red state dems likely will as well. Jason
Yesterday Jeff was saying he's uncomfortable with how fast this is all moving and would like more time to review all the claims. Real fucking shame he's a helpless bystander in all this and couldn't say he's voting no until he's had the time to review everything. Anathema-
When some of our conservative members didn't want Scalia replaced with Garland they cried about the balance of the court. I assume that this is the balance they wished to maintain because the outcome was inevitable and the balance was an obvious sham to begin with. PaladinSolo
Donnelly just announced hes a no, he was expected to vote the same as Collins/Murkowski/Manchin, see if that holds true. I have a hard time seeing red state dems voting for him, the idea is that more moderates will stick with them, but if you lose the dem base even in those states they prolly just don't show up if they don't see them as mattering. Massdriver
I haven't been able to follow this very closely, but it seems to me that regardless of the truth, the way he handled himself seemed way too emotional and partisan for a SCOTUS judge.
