Pikachu
Quote Maid of Sker is a first-person survival horror, set in a remote hotel with a macabre history from Welsh folklore. Brave the nightmares of the Quiet Men. When they arrive, do not panic — don’t even breathe. Coming Q2 2020 to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Set in 1892 and based on the haunting true story of Elizabeth Williams, you play as Thomas Evans, a musician who is thrust into a terrifying battle to save the woman he loves. Featuring realistic 4k visuals with gameplay focused on story, exploration and no-weapon survival tactics. Experience a multiple thread narrative where your decisions matter, unlocking different story paths and multiple endings. A 3D sound based AI system is the core survival gameplay mechanic. Hide, run, creep, trap and distract are some of the techniques you need to master to survive enemies with super hearing. As you progress, enemies become more difficult to avoid, to the point where standing still and holding your breath is the only option! Time it correctly and you’re safe, for now. Run out of breath and — suffer.

Commissar SFLUFAN
Game Information Game Title: Maid of Sker Platforms: PlayStation 4 (Jul 28, 2020) Xbox One (Jul 28, 2020) PC (Jul 28, 2020) OpenCritic - 63 average - 32% recommended Critic Reviews Rely On Horror - 9 / 10 Quote We may still have a few heavy hitters of horror dropping later this year, but as of now, Maid of Sker remains at the top of 2020 for me, and hopefully, others will feel the same after spending some time with it. Hey Poor Player - 4 / 5 Quote Maid of Sker is overall a stand-up immersive horror experience that I would recommend to anyone looking for that sort of thing. The Games Machine - Italian - 8 / 10 Quote Maid of Sker proves an enjoyable survival horror to play in one breath, paying particular attention to the care with which the story was developed. The presence of two different finals also highlights the intent to take it a step further, although it concerns only one choice during the final beats of the game. The fans of the genre will certainly appreaciate it. Make sure you give it a chance. 33bits - Spanish - 75 / 100 Quote Maid of Sker has a fantastic setting and is a true tribute to Wales through the inspiration of its traditions and music. The exploration leaves satisfied in spite of its guided approach and the stealth does not stop being good in spite of its multiple errors and a very improvable enemy AI. A game to keep in mind if we like exploring mansions and discovering secrets. Cultured Vultures - 7.5 / 10 Quote Maid of Sker proves there's more to Wales Interactive than many might realise. Their tense horror shines a new light on Welsh folklore while also delivering fantastic audio design and a few effective scares, though it's not without a lobby full of flaws. Sirus Gaming - 7.5 / 10 Quote Overall, Maid of Sker is a decent horror game. If you’re looking for a good scare, then this is a game worth trying. It’s good for those who aren’t into horror games that rely on jump scares to deliver the horror. That being said, it does come with its own problems. Namely on the technical side. Frame rates and constant pop-ins were a hassle to have to go through. But hopefully, you’ll never have to experience that on your end. IGN Italy - Italian - 7.2 / 10 Quote Maid of Sker - in some ways - could be described as a sort of Resident Evil 7 without weapons. A dilapidated house full of puzzles, the backtracking that repopulates deserted areas at first and the general atmosphere, have brought to mind several times the Capcom adventure. Clearly, the technical side pays the price for an immeasurably lower level of production, but in the same way it outlines the strength of its own qualities. Maid of Sker, however, is all about stealth, and while it gives us some tools to distract or block enemies, it doesn't stray far from its initial structure. Had it not been for a dark, kneaded aesthetic and some rather unfortunate game choices, we'd have a little classic on our hands. IGN Spain - Spanish - 7 / 10 Quote A good horror game with several RE7 inspirations and, at the same time, a very simple way to make us feel scared. Great experience even with the technical difficulties. SECTOR.sk - Slovak - 6.5 / 10 Quote Maid of Sker offers many thrills built on top of great audiovisuals, but it can get quite frustrating and a bit boring. WayTooManyGames - 6.5 / 10 Quote I have some conflicted feelings about Maid of Sker. The giant Resident Evil-esque hotel setting provides an entertaining and exciting place to explore. But the game ended up being lacklustre in other aspects, namely its predictable story, undercooked stealth mechanics and overabundance of jump scares. New Game Network - 64 / 100 Quote Maid of Sker is a competent horror adventure where the player explores a well-designed 19th-century hotel. But its clumsy stealth, forgettable puzzles, and lukewarm scares prevent it from hitting the high notes. Gaming Nexus - 5.5 / 10 Quote Interesting story beats can't overcome the fact that Maid of Sker looks and plays like a frustrating game from an earlier era. GameSpew - 5 / 10 Quote All told, Maid of Sker isn’t a terrible game, but it is a disappointing one. Push Square - 5 / 10 Quote Maid of Sker may be this developer's best attempt at horror yet, but it still falls short of something actually worth playing. GameSpot - 4 / 10 Quote Though Maid of Sker has an intriguing premise, it is very often a frustrating chore to play. PC Invasion - 4 / 10 Quote Maid of Sker has very strong visuals and the hotel itself is well designed. But everything else, from its gameplay systems to its progression and foes, is so weak and ill-considered that I can't imagine most people enjoying what little it has to offer. NookGaming - 3 / 10 Quote Maid of Sker is a competently made game (cornea searing visuals aside), but an awfully executed horror title. From start to finish it struggled to garner, let alone maintain, any semblance of interest of intrigue. The only scare comes from its title and the physical pain it caused was irritating to say the least. As a result, I can safely say that it is not a game worth your time, and you should absolutely give this one a solid miss. Chicas Gamers - Spanish - Unscored Quote Maid of Sker is a good horror game focused on the strengths it can offer, such as the story and the environment. It's possible that it doesn't leave a mark on those who have a long background in horror games, unless you are interested in the story. However, it's ideal to start in the genre. Eurogamer - "An effective if unadventurous slice of rural horror" Quote An effectively eerie backdrop is undone slightly by frustrating stealth in this enjoyable indie horror game. Rock, Paper, Shotgun - Unscored Quote Maid Of Sker is more frightening when it’s not trying to scare you.
