What is the difference between

the 980 pro and 980 pro with heatsink

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08RK2SR23?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1

the one with heatsink is cheaper

The one with the heatsink has a heatsink, that's the only difference. :p

Any reason you're getting a 4070? Is it just to have something decent while you wait for Stepee's 4090? Just get a used 3080-3080 Ti or something

I just didn't know if the bigger size would cause issues. It's weird that it's cheaper to me.

And no, I guess I don't need a 4070 ti super. I just picked something I could afford on PCpartpicker

You just wouldn't use the m.2 heatsink on the motherboard, OR, you'd need to remove the heatsink on the m.2 to use the mobo cover/heatsink.

BTW, a 990 Pro 2tb is currently the same price as a 980 Pro on Amazon:

Buy SAMSUNG 990 PRO SSD NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen4, M.2 2280 Internal Solid State Hard Drive, Seq. Read Speeds Up to 7,450 MB/s for High End Computing, Gaming, and Heavy Duty Workstations, MZ-V9P2T0B/AM: Internal Solid State Drives - Amazon.com ✓ FREE DELIVERY possible on eligible purchases

It's a good bit faster. Just make sure you update the firmware on day one (same with the 980 Pro).

I just don't think it's worth going for a 4070/4070S/4070Ti for $700+ when you'll be getting a 4090 not too long afterwards, unless you really need the extra VRAM :p

Well, it doesn't matter cuz with tax my total amazon order is $2304.28

I mean, yes technically, I can buy that still, but my exact PC fun is 2290 bucks lol.

I'll get a used 3080ti

1440p

Yea, you should be very good-to-go with a 3080 Ti. If I wasn't at 4k and was gaming at 1440p  I might not have upgraded to a 4090 from my 3080 Ti :p

You could also go with a cheaper AMD card to hold you over until the 4090

Bad ray tracing performance, non-RT performance is typically cheaper/dollar than nVidia. IIRC, a 6800XT is about on-par with a 3080 Ti when ray tracing isn't being used.

Sorry, 6900-6950 XT is closer to a 3080 Ti than the 6800 XT (6800 XT is closer to a 3080 non-Ti):

Looks like they're not much cheaper than a used 3080 Ti, so just stick with nVidia for the better RT performance

I am assuming a 3080ti is better or on par with a 4070 super (non ti)? Seem about the same price on eBay

currently looking at this

This Gigabyte GeForce NVIDIA RTX 3080ti Gaming OC graphics card is the perfect addition to any computer setup. Card runs great.ready to plug and go!

So, for some reason I am wary about buying the bundle, and it only saves 2 bucks from this build

Unless that MSI board is far and away better, this will be my build sans GPU EDIT: I have reincluded the 4070 lol @stepee

How do I lower tax

Dude, I'm genuinely happy for you! This is such a massive cost but for you to get it free is something you deserve. Minus the bullshit I'm really happy for you.

I will be joining the master race soon enough.
