Its a painting about the greek gods, which ya know makes WAY more sense at the Olympics than making fun of christians for no reason.

Then why in the hell was this made into such a big deal? I appreciate the info btw.

A delicate issue? No, just no. A biological male is in the ring punching women. There’s nothing delicate about it, the IOC is broken and this shouldn’t be allowed. Sorry, fuck that. This isn’t a moment for subtlety, it’s a moment where everyone should be saying no as loudly as possible.

Seek help. The way you hide behind fake personas is beyond tiring.

She was assigned female at birth while being born in a Muslim country with abysmal LGBTQ  rights. She was raised as a female, has a vagina, a uterus, and fallopian tubes. She has competed against women her entire career without controversy until last year and been defeated by female opponents. The same IOC that determined Lia Thomas couldn’t compete with women has determined this woman is okay to do so. Her opponent here didn’t protest her.

Kindly fuck off into another persona far away from here.

People see that Google AI ad about it writing to your kids favorite athlete and wince right?  Like thats some strange shit.

Aaaaaand it's gone!

Google was criticized for using artificial intelligence to write a fan letter to an Olympic athlete.

Quote

Google has pulled an Olympics ad for its chatbot Gemini from airwaves following backlash for the way it depicts a little girl using artificial intelligence to write a fan letter.

The ad, titled “Dear Sydney,” showed a girl’s dad prompting the AI chatbot to help write a letter to her favorite athlete, U.S. hurdler and sprinter Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone. Google launched Gemini, formerly known as Bard, last year following the surge in popularity of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

“Gemini, help my daughter write a letter telling Sydney how inspiring she is,” the father said in the ad, prompting Gemini. The commercial then briefly shows the draft Gemini produced and closes with footage of the little girl running on the track with a text overlay that says, “A little help from Gemini.”

The ad is still viewable on YouTube but has been taken off the airwaves, where it was repeatedly shown in the first week of the Games.

A Google spokesperson said in a statement to CNBC that, “While the ad tested well before airing, given the feedback, we have decided to phase the ad out of our Olympics rotation.”

Coward won’t come back to defend his statements. Typical of his behavior every time he gets called on his bullshit.

Maybe we will finally get a new character. This Alaskan frontiersman is super-boring.

But this could be an exciting time for him! We could see something really cool and unique. What about coming back as a riverboat gambler? Or a Jesuit priest? There’s all sorts of possibilities.

She won the 800-meter freestyle final Saturday, successfully defending her title for the third time.

Katie Ledecky cannot be stopped.

Ledecky won her ninth gold and 14th overall medal Saturday, taking the 800-meter freestyle and concluding her fourth Olympic Games in style.

She became the most decorated female Olympic swimmer of all time Thursday when she won silver as part of the U.S. 4x200 freestyle relay team for her 13th career medal.

But that wasn’t enough for Ledecky, who defended her three-time title in the 800 free.

Her nine gold medals is the most ever for a female swimmer and the most for an American female athlete across all sports. It ties her with Larisa Latynina, a Soviet gymnast who won nine golds in the 1950s and 1960s, of any woman in Olympic history.

You'll require multiple viewings of the men's 100-meter final to figure out how the hell Noah Lyles came in first place.

You'll require multiple viewings of the men's 100-meter final to figure out how the hell Noah Lyles came in first place. It wasn't obvious in real time, and the American sprinter later said that he thought Jamaica's Kishane Thompson had won the race. But after reviewing the tape, a winning margin of five-thousandths of a second gave Lyles his first Olympic gold medal, making him the first American to win the event since Justin Gatlin in 2004.

The BBC published this pretty cool analysis for the men's 100 meter final, complete with data metrics for various points in the race:

Noah Lyles won Olympic men's 100m gold by five-thousandths of a second at Paris 2024 in a dramatic final which proved the fastest race in history.

A Swedish pole vaulter (who attended LSU) just set a new World Record of 6.25 meters (20.51 feet)...which meant that he broke his own previous World Record :p

I can't help but wonder when all these records will cease being broken. I mean eventually you'd think a human being can only run, swim, jump, so far. That the records will stop falling.

Not anytime soon. Humanity is still evolving.

I'm not talking in our lifetime but eventually the records will have to top out right?

It's difficult to say. I mean when discussing something like basketball, we hit the very best in the 80's and 90's with Jordan.

So yea, it has to top out somewhere.

It was so badass that Biles and Chiles bowed to Andrade on the podium today. All Black podium, women supporting women. You love to see it.

Great sportsmanship.

It was a good sight but I feel bad for the Romanians. More so for the 5th place one. She did not step out of bounds and I thought she was better than Chiles.

No doubt helped out by the pole vaulter who lost because of his giant penis.

I think you can make an argument that Biles is the greatest American athlete of all time.
