Taking the National Rail to Winchester today. Just made the train in time. I’m super excited for this cathedral. 
 

We got off the Underground at Westminster and I wasn’t expecting to see Parliament and Big Ben as soon as we exited. That was great. 
 

It’s a very London day, cool, cloudy, and a drizzle at times.

Ive been down in Sea Isle for 10 days. I was out on my boat the other morning running out back in the bay and we had a pod of dolphins on all sides of the boat for about 15 minutes until they turned left and headed out to the ocean. Pretty insane how close they were. I got scared at one point and cut the motor off because I didn't want to harm them with the propeller. FIrst time I had this happen, pretty surreal.

That's purely an American thing. I worked with this British guy who was a fucking idiot and never finished any single thing he started. Management loved him because he was "so smart" but really they are just American and think that's what smart people sound like.

 

As a minority it was infuriating that I'd interpret "hey dumb Mexican who keeps saving our asses and does more work than anyone and has basically designed everything, why don't you ask this twat who sounds fancy what he thinks"

Just do your research and be mindful of what calls to you both in an itinerary and the ship itself. They all offer different things and it just depends on what you value.
 

The ship I’m on is one people absolutely love, but I think that’s more for people with kids or people who value having a variety of entertainment options and things to do. I like to feel connected to the sea and peaceful and this ship is not for me. Unfortunately you gotta learn the hard way sometimes. Next time I’m going to go on a smaller, simpler ship. 
 

no matter what ship you’re on though, it’s absolutely wonderful not having to cook or clean for a week!

Omg, Wade. We just got back to the hotel and I was pulling out the stuff I bought today and THE BOOK IS A SIGNED COPY! I didn’t even realize that when I picked it up. 
 

I am kinda fangirling hard right now.

Accents, he laughed when I put on a fake southern accent. Also the fact I hunt and eat squirrel. Some sports. He showed me some interesting British foods that I probably won’t try. 
 

It was just a fun time chatting with a total stranger on the train. They were sitting behind us and I wasn’t really paying attention and then I herd them talking about southern American accents and trying to differentiate between them so I turned around and jokingly used a stereotypical accent.

It’s been a DAY holy shit. 
 

We sailed into Port Canaveral, FL around noon for our first stop on the cruise. We weren’t planning to get off though (cause Florida). But as we got cell service again, we got word that my husband’s mom is in the ICU.

 

We decided we were going to leave the cruise early and go fly back home from Orlando. We booked a flight for tomorrow morning and a hotel for tonight. We packed up our whole room and went to leave the ship and they said that it’s illegal to leave the cruise early based on a very outdated and nonsensical maritime law. It would be an $1800 fine. So I guess we are staying on the ship. Fuck. and the flights and hotel we booked were non refundable too.  
 

So yeah, it’s been a stressful ass day. Life just feels cruel right now.

Long, long day. We did Westminster Abbey this morning and the Tower of London this afternoon. They were the two places in London I was most excited to visit and they did not disappoint. I thought of stepee multiple times at the Tower. Took one of the same photos he did. Also grabbed a pic of the rack(I think that’s what he didnt get me mentioned here?). I’m going to try to upload them and post some later. 
 

I even took prayer at the Shrine of Edward the Confessor, but that was mostly because o wanted to get up there to see it and all the tombs of other significant medieval monarchs. That was the only way to get up there.
