Like.. he did a thing in one of the movies, I don't know.. it was a little bit heroic? Did he die maybe? I think he was funny maybe. You know that guy. Well, let's base our marketing on him. I mean, i do remember the blue guy's name, but exactly.

Maybe to the hardcore system complete crowd. Open copies probably not but sealed copies will be a little due to scarcity and it having a story. I would be less bullish if not for how hard Sony pulled it down yesterday. -edit- Collectors were never going to actually play the game. Keyser_Soze
Concord Director Steps Down As Studio Behind Historic PlayStation Flop Waits For Sony's Decision KOTAKU.COM Ryan Ellis was the hero shooter's game director at Firewalk Studios Quote It’s been two weeks since Sony announced it was taking the unprecedented step of unreleasing Concord and almost as long since the ill-fated, sci-fi hero shooter was officially taken offline. In the time since, Kotaku understands that developers at Firewalk Studios have been in limbo about their future as they await Sony’s decision about what comes next for Concord and the team. Whatever ends up happening, game director Ryan Ellis will not be at the helm. Formerly at Bungie where he served as creative director on Destiny 2, Ellis left in 2017 to lead development on what would eventually become Concord. He told staff at Firewalk last week that he would be stepping down from his game director role and move into a support role instead, according to three sources familiar with the change. Commissar SFLUFAN
Sony’s Concord reportedly cost $400M to develop | VGC WWW.VIDEOGAMESCHRONICLE.COM The game was reportedly referred to as “the future of PlayStation” internally… Quote PlayStation’s recently delisted first person shooter Concord reportedly cost $400 million to develop. That’s according to PlayStation podcast Sacred Symbols, which claims that the game, which was recently taken offline by PlayStation after just two weeks on sale, was referred to as “the future of PlayStation,” internally. Colin spoke to this developer for over an hour, and confirmed on background that they were a part of the dev team all along. At the start of 2023, they had nothing. No onboarding, nothing related to live services, and they had to farm a bunch of it out to get it done. Interestingly, the Credit sequence was put on YouTube and is over an hour long 😆 The other fun drama was watching Era meltdown because it came from Colin. It’s funny watching them scream that he’s lying and has no sources when he has guys like Ken Levine, Cliffy B, Tom from Moores Law, Matt Stoller on his podcast regularly. They had Todd Howard on their Xbox Show. The guy from Tales of Kenzera (and House of the Dragon HBO series). Gene Park works for him. It’s fine that they don’t like him, but denying reality because you don’t like someone is really weird behaviour.

Spawn_of_Apathy
I heard that some Destiny devs went over to work on Concord to help. Could it be that may that is false or that Concord is now being used as a bin to sweep a bunch of loss from various studios into a single loss that will be written off on taxes? like say that now they paid Bungie $40M for “consulting” or something. And paid other Sony studios for various services.

There were streamers, ads, etc. but I think Colin might be wrong in not including the cost of buying the studio. He’s also getting the information from a dev, but that doesn’t mean they are completely correct about the cost. The toxic positivity has been confirmed by another journalist who quoted Moriarty’s tweet on the subject. But yeah. One hour credit sequence is telling. Commissar SFLUFAN Posted yesterday at 04:10 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:10 PM Maybe it didn't cost $400 million. Chris Dring (GameIndustry.biz): Quote Because no game has that dev budget. The press reports are the laughing stock of the industry. Concord didn’t even get any above-the-line marketing spend Tom Warren: Quote I'm amazed but also not amazed that publications have run with this number. You only have to look at ProbablyMonsters's funding to know it's nonsense Ethan Gach (Kotaku - wrote the story about the departure of the game's director): Quote I haven't been able to confirm the budget yet but $400 million is not the number I've heard.
