Spawn_of_Apathy
It does not happen 100% of the time, but for the last couple weeks at least I will be browsing topics in the press room and tweets people post are not showing correctly. Instead of the normal preview they look dark, are just text with a hyper link for the image of the tweet that does not work.
Jason
It's been happening to me a lot on mobile. Unless @Emblazon has any ideas we may have to just wait for a boards software update.
Nokra
I've had this happen a fair amount lately, too. Reloading the page often fixes it, but not always.
Keyser_Soze
Still waiting for @Emblazon to work on that transparency fix.

I refreshed the page just now a couple times and it didn't reproduce the error. It seems to be rather random. So like @Jason said, maybe there's an update for either the boards or just the Twitter plugin?
Emblazon
If it's random, I'd say it's either Twitter or the way IP Boards handles it. There currently isn't any custom code on media.
Jason
@SFLUFAN considering that this started happening out of nowhere and doesn't seem to be tied to when we ran the last update, the answer here may be putting in a ticket with Invision. Emblazon
On a side note, and here's an example, reddit embeds don't seem to be appearing properly. I've looked into the code, and it's all pulling from Embedly, which I can't change, and there doesn't seem to be any CSS on the site here that directly affects the embed. I'm getting a 500 error on the embed here: I didn't realize until you posted ITT that Invision is using Embedly to do the embedding, it would make sense if what we're seeing is a third party service randomly shitting the bed. Jason
@Emblazon Embedly shitting the bed still seems plausible, but apparently the 500 error was probably the YouTube outage.

Kal-El814
This has been happening for me on iOS for a little while. 2 issues in one post. The stretching issue isn’t a problem on my iPad, but I think it’s mainly due to screen size? @Jason @Emblazon
Emblazon
I noticed that as well. I'll take a look at the sizing to see if anything has changed, but I believe the black BG is some things that's out of our control.

Everything here is functioning as intended. Which means, if I had to guess, the issue with the white background not appearing is Twitter scripting as well. It also might be exclusively an iPhone issue (still because of Twitter scripting), because when I inspect mobile on my computer, tweets appear properly and do not extend past the max width of the page. We're just going to have to wait until Twitter gets off their collective ass and does something to fix it.
Guest
If it's any consolation, I see this issue happening often on Firefox than on Chrome

People have been asking for an edit feature for a decade and twitter is now thinking about it.
