CitizenVectron
It's really weird that conservatism in the UK tends to be far less extreme in some areas compared to the rest of Europe (or the US), but in other areas is far more regressive.

mclumber1
Brexit was successful because the proponents of the initiative made it about immigration. The current right wing swing in mainland Europe is largely driven by... immigration. I like immigration and I think it should be easier to accomplish. I also recognize that it is a losing issue especially after years of relatively unchecked immigration. With Germany, France, and other euro countries allowing so many immigrants from the middle east and Africa, the governments turned the population against what should have been a noble thing to do.

When you’ve been stuck with it for 14 years and it’s massively fucked up everything on its own accord, it’s not a hard shift to make. That said, this will be my 3rd general election voting labour. Next time, I’m assuming Green, unless labour swing a bit more away from the centre.
