At what percentage would the wider black community no longer consider a person as being black?

Now I am genuinely curious about the racial breakdown of D1P’s user base.

Born and raised in 'Murica, but 100% Pakistani - my parents were born and grew up there, my grandparents, etc. Been there many times, still have family there. Born and raised very Muslim, but definitely not Muslim now. I'm a radical leftist heathen.

I also get confused for Jewish far far too much, it's always been confusing for me.  One time when I was in New York a couple Orthodox Jews approached me in the financial district thinking I was the guy they were meeting.

Anyway, I think everyone who is up for the VP slot has cancelled plans this weekend, which is kind of weird.

It's an attempt to exploit biracialism/multiracialism as what they perceive as a "divisive" issue within the greater black community.

There are much more effective ways they could do that

There's nothing in the rulebook that says you can't have 6 VPs!

Incredible small dick energy. And the thing about a small dick is you don't want one whether you're a man or a woman!

The whole "she's not one of you" push from the GOP is... bizarre.

They did the same shit with Obama. There were even constant derpy articles that “Bill Clinton was already the first black president!”.

I really can’t understand how anyone is shocked by this nonsense they’re trying with Kamala :p

I think it's more that now that people have had years to see how deeply unserious the GOP is as a whole, it lost a lot of the power it had against Obama. Which, mind you, was never much, but it got a lot of attention that people felt the need to address even if they felt it was silly. Now people are just like "shut the fuck up you fucking idiots!"

Sure, but I’m replying to someone who thinks it’s bizarre when it’s part of the GOP “classics” playbook :p

Harris raised 310 million in July and has 377 million on hand, Trump raised 139 million all of July, so she raised almost as much as Trump did after her first record breaking week than Trump did in all of July, and now has 50 million more cash on hand than Trump.

Trump was ‘trying to show strength’ in Chicago. He stepped on his campaign’s own talking points instead. (Politico)

Quote

Susie Wiles, a top adviser to Donald Trump's campaign, told surrogates on Wednesday morning that hammering their latest talking points — hitting Kamala Harris as "weak, failed, and dangerously liberal" — would be their messaging priority until advised otherwise.

Trump's upcoming appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago came up only briefly, said a person with knowledge of the discussion.

Hours later their messaging plan was in disarray, with Trump's remarks in Chicago questioning Harris's racial identity — "She happened to turn Black," he said — jolting the race and upending the news cycle.

It was perhaps the most vivid illustration yet of how, for all of its sophistication compared to Trump's 2016 and 2020 operations, even a more professionalized Trump campaign is no match for the impulses of the candidate himself.

Within hours of the disastrous NABJ interview, Trump pushed his own narrative further at a Pennsylvania rally, displaying an old article proclaiming Harris as the "first Indian-American US senator." The next day, Trump posted on Truth Social that Harris' "warmth, friendship and love of your Indian Heritage are very much appreciated," showing an old photo of Harris with family members wearing traditional Indian clothing. Echoing the birtherism of his first campaign, Trump also reposted a purported copy of her birth certificate listing her mother and father's respective birthplaces as India and Jamaica.

After scrambling since Harris entered the race to find a way to stop her climb, the Trump operation before Wednesday had settled on a policy-focused attack centered on immigration.

Trump stepped all over it.

Trump stalled Black journalists interview over fact-checking (Axios)

Quote

Moments before former President Trump took the stage at the National Association of Black Journalists annual convention in Chicago on Wednesday, the organization's president was called back to address an issue.

Why it matters: Trump did not want to be fact-checked live and was refusing to go on stage, NABJ president Ken Lemon told Axios

  • "[Trump's team] said, 'Well, can you not fact check? He's not going to take the stage if you fact-check,'" Lemon said.
Quote

Behind the scenes: The stalemate was so prolonged that NABJ leaders were prepared to explain to the audience of nearly 2,000 people why Trump would not appear.

  • "I was prepared to go on stage to craft a statement, saying he decided not to go on stage because of fact-checking... we couldn't compromise on that.
  • As Lemon was preparing that statement, Trump walked onto the stage.

Donald Trump claims 'nobody's ever called him weird' and that JD Vance is 'not weird at all'

Quote

"Well they're the weird ones and if you've ever seen her with the laugh and everything else that's a weird deal going on there. They're the weird ones," the former president retorted during an interview with conservative radio host Clay Travis on Thursday.

It must be so easy to be in Republican communications.  You can just grab what they did 20 years ago and just find and replace the names.  Kerry is the most liberal senator ever and wants to take your guns while raising taxes, Obama is the most liberal senator ever and wants to take your guns while raising taxes.  Maybe it's because 20 years ago they actually won an election.

Late to the convo, but I’m Italian, with a splash of Irish. Most people in high school swore I had mob connections because my dad owned a bar and they assumed it was a front for something nefarious.

How sure are you that it wasn't a front, though?

IF TRUMP HAD HIS WAY YOU WOULDNT BE HERE YOU STUPID FUCK

The Harris camp dragged out a clip of Vance agreeing with Trump's take on birthright citizenship and it's brought the Very Fine People out of the hills to have opinions on the 14th amendment once again.

Shockingly, it wasn’t a front for anything, but he DID have connections with some shady people according to my mother.
