Now more than ever I really think Swift needs to be on the ticket. President or VP with Biden or Harris I don’t care but it’s just the only way to surefire keep Trump out of office at this point.

I'd say JD is the best choice from Biden's POV.  Bergum brings competence and Rubio brings likability. Vance is just a douche.

It’s wild that Vance is gonna go from part time CNN commentator and liberal book favorite to GOP VP in less than 8 years.

A spox for Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine tells me this is state law enforcement that he approved Saturday at 6:40 pm.

A source familiar says it’s NOT Secret Service, not related to veepstakes and that the presence is strictly precautionary after yesterday.

She still can’t run even if she will be 35 before inauguration?

She would turn 35 a few weeks before inauguration, which means she would be eligible.

New York Times polls

Pennsylvania 🟥Trump 48% 🟦 Biden 45%

Pennsylvania 🟥Trump 48% 🟦 Harris 47%

Virginia 🟦 Biden 48%🟥Trump 45%

Virginia 🟦 Harris 49% 🟥Trump 44%

I'm convinced they run polls that get clicks.  Like a 1% difference is pretty much dead even with margins of error and whatnot.

Most media outlets that publish polls partner with a specific polling company, and commission their polls.  The polling companies typically use their political polls as a "loss leader" to generate business for their real business (marketing research).

There isn't really an incentive for the polling company to make up numbers.

Vance has departed his home in a motorcade.

I get unreasonably pissed off at JD Vance's whole thing.  He was a "reasonable republican" during late Obama when it was thought that would be advantageous.  Then he pivoted to MAGA and moved back to Ohio specifically for this, to get elected to the country's easiest Senate seat after Portman left town to tee himself up for an appointment or VP.  Friend of mine talks about how JD helped him pack his stuff to move to college without even asking, I tell him that at some point when he went to Yale or got involved with Thiel he fully embraced being a scumbag for power.

Was his book actually any good? I know the movie got nominated for Oscars but critics said it sucked.

It was widely regarded as poverty porn, pulling up by bootstraps and all.

PA Senate:

🔴 McCormick: 42%

JD Vance sucks.

Trump probably picked him because his name sounds the most like Pence.

He would only need to scratch out the "PE" and swap in a "VA" and he can reuse all his old signs and pass the savings onto the country.

And it didn’t end up being an easy seat because his campaign against Jim Ryan was actually competitive, particularly for where Ohio is now politically.
