Yikes. I don't know how much of it was intentional but the timing of this has been devastating for Republicans. Two weeks ago Joe was embroiled in the push to drop out, the assassination attempt happened, then Trump picked Vance, and he got to do the convention. A week later and Joe dropped out, handed off to Kamala, the polls have bounced from that, but now Kamala also still has her VP pick and our convention in the chamber and Trump gets to choose whether he wants to sustain Kamala calling him a wimp for the next 3 months or risk everything by getting on the debate stage with her. Biden/Harris has been polling better in New Mexico and Colorado than Nevada or Arizona. Nevada has a lot of Hispanics, the demographic whom Biden has been hemorrhaging the most. If Harris/whoever does well enough to take Nevada I'm pretty sure they'll take Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. Pennsylvania is the tipping point state. Harris needs to campaign hard there and win it, and it's why Shapiro would be the best VP pick. (unfortunately it's questionable whether he'll be interested, and Kelly seems to be the person they're talking up) Next three weeks are key, though. She needs to define herself before Trump does, and find an answer for the 'she's too liberal' attacks coming her way. Did anyone post her latest ad, btw? ...pretty darn good, if you ask me. Obviously there have been, and still are, plenty of lies that attach themselves to political campaigns, but what I think makes stories like this and the Gorilla Channel unique is that Trump and his ilk are so far outside the bounds of what used to be acceptable that it has become nearly impossible to discern what is real and what is fake.
