Add to it the craziness that was Poor Things (still sticks in my head months after viewing), yeah I'm so down for this flick & for Yorgos' work going forward as a whole. TheLeon Posted July 3 Author Share Posted July 3 This is one for the sickos. It’s definitely a lot closer to The Killing of a Sacred Deer than his last couple more high profile movies. It’s a very bleak, dry movie where every character is a weirdo with odd, unnatural dialogue. It’s not an easy watch. I laughed a lot, but it was almost always at something incredibly dark/uncomfortable. Beyond that, it’s actually 3 short films, with the main cast playing different characters each time. By about halfway through the third story, it started to feel a little like an endurance test, because while I enjoy this particular vibe, a little goes a long way. I’m glad I saw it in the theater so I could stay locked into it, but it might actually play better at home, when you can take a break between each story. 1 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Moa Posted July 5 Share Posted July 5 Didn’t enjoy this one. I think I draw the line on weird movies when the characters don’t speak or act recognizably human. When things become too stilted everything loses impact. Emma Stone’s dance and the dogs at the end of the second act were the highlights for me.
