Dodger
If this was like 1991 Paul would get Apollo Creed'd in the ring. Fuck it I'll watch. Hope Tyson still has something left

nublood
Money money money. They'll manufacture some make believe drama leading up to the fight, some pushing and shoving yada yada. This fight is all about theater and revenue.

Mr.Vic20
My money is still definitely on Tyson, even if he rolls up to the ring in a wheel chair.
Brian
It’s impressive how quickly Paul turned this circus from some bullshit thing into a Netflix payday at AT&T and a sports agency in MVP. Since it’s on Netflix, it’s gonna crush all boxing number. Wild times

It will be a “fun” exhibition match. I wish it could be more. It will pull in huge numbers though. Both of them have their own huge fan bases. Not joking @skillzdadirecta Even the completely shot and disinterested Tyson that fought Lewis would knock both Paul brothers out in the 1st round on the same night. I don't think people realize what a genetic freak Tyson is, even at almost 60. He was 200 pounds at 13 years old, and was already knocking out grown men.

He is the most frightening human being to ever enter a ring. Short vid worth watching:

Not joking @skillzdadirecta 100 percent. Prime or even amateur Tyson would beat Paul 1000 out of 1000 times. Jake wouldn't even survive half of the first round. But like DarkStar189 said, this is just a glorified exhibition match.

Unfortunately I think Tyson will make a fool of himself and probably lose.

skillzdadirecta
My buddies that I've been watching boxing with since college texted me this this morning in our boxing text chat. I didn't even bother to respond and I'm only posting here to please ask to not tag me or mention me in this thread. I haven't seen Jake Paul fight and I'm indifferent to his whole "career". Mike is just trying to make money at this point... the most interesting thing about this whole story is that THIS is Netflix' answer to its lack of live sports?

Commissar SFLUFAN
Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul to be sanctioned, professional fight - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Jake Paul and Mike Tyson's July 20 heavyweight clash will be classified as a sanctioned, professional fight by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations with the outcome affecting their professional records. Quote The July 20 bout between YouTuber-turned-prizefighter Jake Paul and former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson will be classified as a sanctioned, professional fight by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. The heavyweight showdown will be contested over eight two-minute rounds with each fighter using 14-ounce gloves. The outcome will affect their professional boxing records. "Mike Tyson and Jake Paul signed on to fight each other with the desire to do so in a sanctioned professional fight that would have a definitive outcome," Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said in a statement to ESPN. "Over the past six weeks, MVP has worked with its partners to satisfy the requirements of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) to sanction Paul vs. Tyson, and we are grateful that we have gotten to this point." Since the announcement of the fight, which will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and will be streamed on Netflix, there were questions surrounding what the rules would be given the two fighters have more than a three-decade age difference. CitizenVectron
I think like most people, my hope for this fight is that Paul and Tyson have a secret agreement to make it really entertaining and for Paul to win...and Tyson immediately ignores that when he enters the ring, and ends up punching Paul's entire head off. I think Paul likely will/would win against Tyson anyway, based on their respective age/skill (though obviously he wouldn't have stood a chance against a Tyson from 10+ years ago)...but all it takes is a good punch from Tyson to end it.
