Chairslinger
Apparently there was a lot of buzz that Youngkin would use a big night of R victories in Virginia to slingshot himself as a late entrant into the Republican primary and perhaps even replace DeSantis amoung the big money, "anybody but Trump" donors. Guess that won't be happening It's crazy how polarization and electoral tricks have made the Republican party one that is so structurally unstable and yet also a coin flip away from winning complete control of the government.

When you can take the constituent out of what we care about and vote independently on the issues it's a much better thing.

Commissar SFLUFAN
Exonerated ‘Central Park Five’ member Yusef Salaam wins New York City Council seat APNEWS.COM Exonerated “Central Park Five” member Yusef Salaam won a seat Tuesday evening on the New York City Council. Quote Exonerated “Central Park Five” member Yusef Salaam won a seat Tuesday on the New York City Council, completing a stunning reversal of fortune decades after he was wrongly imprisoned in an infamous rape case. Salaam, a Democrat, will represent a central Harlem district on the City Council, having run unopposed for the seat in one of many local elections held across New York state Tuesday. He won his primary election in a landslide. The victory comes more than two decades after DNA evidence was used to overturn the convictions of Salaam and four other Black and Latino men in the 1989 rape and beating of a white jogger in Central Park. Salaam was arrested at age 15 and imprisoned for almost seven years. 3 1 1

Marconi was the only first selectman candidate on the ballot. Bob Cousins, a 20-year Ridgefield resident and Republican, launched a write-in campaign shortly before the election.
