The Fall Guy - Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt

Oh my gawd that looks amazing as hell. Love the comedy with the great action too. Gosling really looks like he actual wants to be and do what he could of his own stunts for this. Can’t wait to see some of the extras for an eventual 4K release. Odenkirk’s training for Nobody was great to watch for the 8-10min extra it was. Plus it almost seems like it’s a wishful semi fantasy biographical film for Lietch himself, being a stuntman himself.

This looks kind of good in that over the top stupid kind of way

This should end up at least pretty good. This is directed by David Leitch, the second half of the John Wick 1 directing duo along with Chad Stahelski. David Leitch was an uncredited co-director on that, and while his fellow stuntman Chad Stahelski stuck with directing the next three John Wick movies, David Leitch has gone on to make a bunch of action blockbuster bangers: Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, Hobbs & Shaw and Bullet Train, all four of which I enjoyed a lot (Deadpool 2 being my favorite, but the rest aren't far behind).

Ryan Gosling has starred in The Nice Guys, The Gray Man and now The Fall Guy.

While no "the" there is also First Man. And he even branched out with Lars and The Real Girl. While he isn't the real girl, it's pretty close.

Saw this last night and it is everything it says on the tin. It's a cheeky, funny, meta, action packed romp. It knows its cues and nails them. The comedy hits, the romantic chemistry is excellent, the stunts are impressive. It never transcends its genre, but it's a very enjoyable celebration of stunts and movie making in a highly entertaining package. Overall just a fun time in the theater.

They also get a couple good jabs in at the Academy for not awarding stunt guys, which I appreciated.

I saw this last week in theatres with friends, and yeah it was a lot of fun. Very simple, I would like to see some sequels. Almost missed the after credits scene too. At least I saw one of them, I don't know if there was more than one.

Shame it didn't make money, because they said they already had the story for the sequel. I'd be interested to see the on demand release because it has 20 extra minutes. I wonder if they included the missing parts seen in the trailer

there were a few things seen in the trailer that didn't show up in the final version of the film

That's normal for all movies though before they get picture lock.

Fully intending to see this finally on Friday w/ the Mrs. on our 14th anniversary. Cheaper than the rental option & it's an excuse to go to the theater!!

I gotta ask, how much are movie tickets near you? Here in NJ even a matinee is $10.50/ticket to see this. (I’m genuinely asking btw, not being disingenuous)

I think $11 🤔 but I have Regal Pass anyways so free tix galore. That reminds me, gotta snag those Deadpool/Wolverine tix!

for early trailer yes, but usually not for final trailers, though it definitely seems to be happening more often these days. Of course nothing as bad as Madame Web omissions

That whole film was an omission because I didn't bother to see it.
