Xbob42
Not watching any trailers since like every fucking game trailer in existence these days has a mandate to give away any little fun surprise, and half the fun of a game like this (for me at least) is seeing all the unique little power-ups and finding out what they do. Pretty sure I got an email from Nintendo that tried to explain like 8 of them, which sounds like probably all of them? I'm good, it's already pre-ordered, don't need to see more.
Biggie
18 hours ago, stepee said: This was a fun demo! I can tell that while it’s an easy game it is like Kirby with getting 100% adding the challenge. I definitely did not 100% either level my first go, so that made me feel better about that concern. I wasn’t expecting 30fps for some reason so that was disappointing. However the game itself is gorgeous and really pops on the oled. The art and production values are great. Hopefully it will run at 60fps on Switch 2 next year and I can play it again. It soooooo reminds me of Kirby. The game just oozes Nintendo charm. I love the way the colors look on the OLED! Decorating the cakes sold me! It’s going to be very creative! 1

GameDadGrant
I’ve heard a rumor that the game is developed by GoodFeel, the same team that did Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Yoshi’s Woolly World. Which might explain the difficulty (or lack thereof) and the Kirby-like vibes. Anyway, the demo was fun. I enjoyed it and my kids both LOVED it. This’ll be a D1P (Day One Purchase). Yeah it’s Good Feel apparently, weird they are being all secretive about it. Also you forgot Wario: Shake it! They also did Yoshi Crafted World which is more recent and not as good as the others. But part of my issue with that game was the IQ was pretty terrible, and this game does not have that issue.

Keyser_Soze
GOTY Let's go! Game Information Game Title: Princess Peach: Showtime! Platforms: Nintendo Switch (Mar 22, 2024) Trailer: Review Aggregator: OpenCritic - 76 average - 58% recommended Critic Reviews Spoiler Atomix - Alberto Desfassiaux - Spanish - 83 / 100 Despite some very notable technical issues, Princess Peach: Showtime! exceeds on presenting a great number of simple, but brilliant gameplay ideas. COGconnected - James Paley - 72 / 100 Quote not yet available Cerealkillerz - Steve Brieller - German - 8.4 / 10 Princess Peach: Showtime! delivers surprising variety in gameplay and shows Peach in several roles like cowgirl, ninja or mermaid. Even though the game lacks in difficulty and replayability the target audience of younger and predominantly female gamers will find an entertaining Jump'n'Run with Nintendo's most prominent Princess. Everyone else gets a easy to digest game for short timeframes like a bus ride. Checkpoint Gaming - Luke Mitchell - 8 / 10 Princess Peach: Showtime! finally gives our first Nintendo Diva the spotlight she has long deserved, and almost shockingly, once again brings us a Nintendo experience that feels both comfortably familiar and thrillingly different. Despite some weird frame-rate issues and a few costume changes that are less memorable than others, the amount of charm and satisfying simplicity oozing out of Princess Peach: Showtime! makes it a stage performance worthy of applause and adoration. Let's hope this first true starring role for Peach isn't her last. ComicBook.com - Marc Deschamps - 3.5 / 5 It's too soon to tell if Princess Peach: Showtime! will do for the character what Luigi's Mansion did for Mario's brother, but I find myself hoping we'll see Nintendo and Good Feel revisit this concept in the future. Hopefully by then they'll have ditched some of the weaker transformations, and give the graphics an overhaul worthy of royalty. Console Creatures - Bobby Pashalidis - Recommended Princess Peach: Showtime! further proves that it doesn't require Mario to show up to save the day because Princess Peach can hold her own. Digital Trends - Giovanni Colantonio - 3 / 5 Princess Peach: Showtime! is a charming start to a new series, even if it feels like a dress rehearsal for the real show. Digitec Magazine - Michelle Brändle - German - Unscored In this platformer, the focus is not on the difficulty of the individual levels, but on the many surprises that await me with Peach's creative outfits and transformations. The Sparkle Theater, Princess Peach and the game environments are detailed and lovingly designed. Even though the levels can be played through quickly, collecting coins and hidden stars gives me the motivation to play through them several times. It's a rather easy game, but a real feel-good experience. Enternity.gr - Nikitas Kavouklis - Greek - 7.5 / 10 Princess Peach: Showtime is quite cute, it has special colors, activities and themes that attract not only the young audience, but also those whose years have left their marks only on their outward appearance. Eurogamer - Ashley Bardhan - 4 / 5 Nintendo's second-ever Peach game finally realises the character is destined for smart level design and center stage. GAMES.CH - Benjamin Braun - German - 74% Quote not yet available GamePro - Tobias Veltin - German - 78 / 100 Quote not yet available GameSpot - Steve Watts - 7 / 10 Princess Peach Showtime is a breezy exploration of genres aimed at novice gamers. Glitched Africa - Marco Cocomello - 7 / 10 Princess Peach Showtime is a charming game that is clearly aimed at younger users. The hand-holding gameplay and limited difficulty might prove too boring for even the casual gamer. God is a Geek - Adam Cook - 8 / 10 Princess Peach: Showtime is a lovely time full of clever ideas, and a great way for Peach to make her solo debut. IGN Italy - Andrea Peduzzi - Italian - 7.5 / 10 Peach makes a comeback with a fun and artistically inspired video game perfect for kids, a little less so for hardcore gamers. IGN Spain - Raquel Morales - Spanish - 8 / 10 Princess Peach: Showtime! is a simple game, but it once again demonstrates the potential of a character in Mario's shadow. Nintendo has taken the opportunity to create a visually attractive game that combines many elements of video games: combat, stealth, puzzles, platforms or shoot 'em up. Nintendo Life - PJ O'Reilly - 8 / 10 Princess Peach: Showtime! sees Nintendo finally give everyone's favourite imaginary princess the rollicking adventure she deserves. We had expected a rather throwaway offering here, a bunch of minigames and Mario-lite platforming maybe, but what we've got is one of the better kid-focused games on Switch. There's creativity, style, and fun to spare here, with levels packed full of secrets, cool outfits, and enough new mechanics to ensure nothing ever outstays its welcome. Come for the fashion, stay for the boss battles, slo-mo bullet dodges, and cardboard horse chases. Besides a few niggling performance issues, this is Nintendo on rather cracking form. Encore! Post Arcade (National Post) - Chad Sapieha - 8 / 10 Much like Elle Woods, Peach is a smart, capable woman who also just happens to be able to rock a pink gown and a golden crown. Keep reading. Press Start - Kieron Verbrugge - 7.5 / 10 Despite its technical woes and pervasive simplicity, there's just enough of a spark in Princess Peach Showtime! that it had won me over by the time the curtains closed. It might not be deserving of a standing ovation but it's certainly got the stage presence to attract an audience. It's good, light, family fun that's consistently charming and perfectly cast. Spaziogames - Italian - 8 / 10 Princess Peach: Showtime! is an exemplar of Nintendo's game design philosophy, delivering an innovative and cohesive gaming experience that challenges expectations and recalls the essence of video games. The Games Machine - Daniele Cucchiarelli - Italian - 7.6 / 10 Princess Peach gives proof of great transforming talent in this her second "solo" adventure. Ten transformations take turns in levels filled with mini-games and secrets. A colorful and fun game marked by a low level of difficulty, which penalizes longevity and targets it mainly at a very young or novice audience. TheSixthAxis - Reuben Mount - 7 / 10 Princess Peach: Showtime! is a good game, but It will not be for everyone and those with decent gaming experience won't find a challenge here... but that isn't the point. This foray with Peach into acting scratches that itch of a game that is just a fun little time within minimal stress or worry – something we all need right now. Peach's adventure isn't anything groundbreaking, but the commitment to its theming and spades of the classic Nintendo charm make it worth sticking with until the curtain call. TrustedReviews - By Ryan Jones - 3.5 / 5 Quote not yet available VGC - Andy Robinson - 4 / 5 Full of personality and variety, Princess Peach Showtime delivers a performance that’s better than the sum of its parts, with some shallow mechanics lost in the glitz of its cabaret show. The challenge is definitely geared towards youngsters, but even experienced players will find it difficult not to be charmed. WellPlayed - Ash Wayling - 8.5 / 10 With its emphasis on action, exploration, and a heaped helping of theatricality, Princess Peach: Showtime! showcases that our dear Princess is more than comfortable in the spotlight. If the odd performance issues subside, it may just be ready for a standing ovation.

Oh yeah, it was always going to score like this because it’s an easier shorter game designed to be a fun charming breezy experience, so it’s going to lose points right out the gate for being what it is. Game sounds wonderful and I’m upset I didn’t bring my switch to try to download it for the plane ride home tomorrow!

Keyser_Soze
I only played the first level but seems like a simple fun game. Looks a bit soft in handheld mode unfortunately but looks good enough. I was thinking as I played this, if they truly wanted to make this kid friendly wouldn't it be better to fully voice the characters? No kids can read but they can hear dialogue. Peach says enough real things where I think they could pull it off. But then again Nintendo is Spoiler
