Commissar SFLUFAN
Hunter Biden plea deal on tax crimes in peril over gun charge dispute WWW.CNBC.COM Judge Maryellen Noreika, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, put the proceedings on hold as she asked the parties to work out their dispute. Quote Hunter Biden’s plea hearing on two federal tax misdemeanors Wednesday was thrown into chaos by a last minute disagreement between prosecutors and defense attorneys over a separate deal for a felony gun charge against President Joe Biden’s son, NBC News reported. The 53-year-old Biden initially appeared in U.S. District Court in Wilmington, Delaware, to enter his guilty plea a month after federal prosecutors first revealed the criminal tax charges against him. His attorneys reached a separate pretrial diversion agreement with prosecutors on an unrelated firearms charge, court filings showed. Prosecutors said the agreements on the tax and gun charges were distinct, but during the hearing, Hunter Biden said he wouldn’t agree to plead guilty to the tax charges without the diversion program and dismissal of gun charges, per NBC. Judge Maryellen Noreika, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, put the proceedings on hold as she asked the parties to work out their dispute. More than an hour after the hearing began, the judge called a recess while the two sides decided on whether to hash out their disagreement now or else set a pretrial date for September. Commissar SFLUFAN
To me, Joe doesn't come off particularly well in this situation at all. Waiting for a "green light" from his dissolute son to acknowledge his grandchild? That just strikes me as wrong. Biden acknowledged his 7th grandchild after getting the 'green light' from his son WWW.NBCNEWS.COM The president has told people close to him that he hopes to eventually meet Hunter Biden’s 4-year-old daughter. Quote In recent weeks, President Joe Biden realized that his silence was no longer tenable — that it was time for him to publicly recognize his 4-year-old granddaughter caught up in a bitter child support case involving his son Hunter Biden, people familiar with the matter said. But before he could do so, he wanted to take one final step: getting the "green light" from his son, which he received last week, one source said. And on Friday, Biden finally spoke out about his seventh grandchild whom, for years, he wouldn't so much as acknowledge in public. Now, the president wants to meet little Navy Joan Roberts of Arkansas and dispel the notion that he was ignoring a vulnerable member of the Biden family tree that is at the root of his political identity, according to the people familiar with the matter. Even if just publicly, it should be the mother's call since she's got custody. Respecting the parent’s wish regardless of custody is what’s important. If you told your parent to not do x, and they went ahead and did x anyway against your wishes, it would probably damage (or further damage) your relationship with your parent. like, Hunter has a hard enough time dealing with all of his very obvious issues like addiction, legal problems, and being the target of a right wing smear campaign for years on end without his father, the most visible and powerful person on this planet, publicly and openly undermining his wishes in a clearly delicate personal matter and for all the professed unconditional love that Joe has for his son, by far and away his best quality as a person, it would all be just words if he went against his wishes for something that, again, appears to be so clearly delicate and personal to Hunter. And Joe being so high profile absolutely changes the stakes compared to a similar situation that you or I would have.

If Hunter was even somewhat involved and didn't want the child in the limelight, completely his call. But him not being involved creates a void where the relationship is now between the mother and the Biden family. If that strains the relationship between Joe and Hunter, so be it, you prioritizes the welfare of the child in accordance with the only active parent's wishes. If the mother wants to stay out of the limelight, her call, but Hunter doesn't get to pull the parent card solely to make Thanksgiving less weird for himself.

Commissar SFLUFAN
Guess who's getting his very own Special Counsel?!?! Attorney general elevates Hunter Biden prosecutor to special counsel - ABC News ABCNEWS.GO.COM Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss as a special counsel in his investigation of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden Quote Attorney General Merrick Garland has appointed Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss as a special counsel in his investigation of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, Garland announced on Friday. Weiss asked Garland to be appointed special counsel on Tuesday and Garland said he concluded it was in the public interest after considering the request. A senior Department of Justice official told reporters that this is the first time Weiss has asked to be appointed special counsel. Weiss himself has said the same before, pushing back on claims by an IRS whistleblower. "This appointment confirms my commitment to provide Mr. Weiss all the resources he requests," Garland said. "It also reaffirms that Mr. Weiss has the authority he needs to conduct a thorough investigation and to continue to take the steps he deems appropriate in dependently based only on the facts and the law." Garland said Weiss "will continue to have the authority and responsibility that he has previously exercised to oversee the investigation and decide where, when and whether to file charges."
