(From 2-4pm) Someone commented on their efforts and its true SOCIALIST CAUSE they are fighting for. Waiting for them chuds to link arms to keep Donald safe in his resort from being arrested. While also not allowing paying members in because they could be the deep state of FBI/CIA agents sent to spy on him. For some reason I can see Tuesday getting violent and even more so after his rally. 😂 sure why not.

And it’s totally entertaining seeing Nazis feel emboldened thanks to his entertainment. True, these things, like every other horrible injury Trump has brought upon society, are by no means amusing—but, at the same time, I sort of understand where best3444 is coming from. As my favorite poet once wrote about being black in Jim Crow America: Quote De railroad bridge's A sad song in de air. De railroad bridge's A sad song in de air. Ever time de trains pass I wants to go somewhere. I went down to de station. Ma heart was in ma mouth. Went down to de station. Heart was in ma mouth. Lookin' for a box car To roll me to de South. Homesick blues, Lawd, 'S a terrible thing to have. Homesick blues is A terrible thing to have. Guest
Reading the indictment this morning, wow, on the assumption that all things in it are accurate, there is no way a jury wouldn’t convict on at least some accounts. The audio transcripts destroy any of the very legitimate defenses he could have raised.

Those audio transcripts of him asking if it would be better if they said nothing, for example, or him admitting he can't declassify after leaving office, are amazing. I think NBC interviewed a judge Trump appointed in Alabama who said the entire thing is damning. Whether he serves time is a different story: the point that judge made about him being guaranteed Secret Service protection and their not being able to delegate that authority to the prison system is something I'd not considered. Course, I'd love to see him in orange since he's reckless as all hell with national secrets!

The audio transcripts destroy any of the very legitimate defenses he could have raised. After reading bits and pieces from various news stories and twitter threads I finally got around to reading it myself and I agree. It all seems very straightforward. It's also very much unlike a lot of the "mob boss" style dealings that are par for Trump. He has between one and zero degrees of separation at all times here. He's clearly aware of the crimes and either directly instructing them or doing them himself. I expected more of the "maybe someone should take care of the thing in the room" or "this was a clerical oversight by a small part of my huge organization for whom I'm not directly responsible" or some other distance that Trump could put between himself and all of this. Instead, it's Trump himself, on tape, saying he knows it's a crime, that he could have avoided doing it, but repeatedly deciding to do the crime. He had so many chances to just cooperate and likely avoid any kind of consequence, but he just couldn't help himself. I'm not very familiar with your typical indictment, but this feels very open and shut.
