Fizzzzle
Any time I meet someone my age who still has grandparents I kind of go "what, really?" in my head. It seems weird to me, but I guess it's probably not that uncommon. My grandparents died in 1997, 2002, 2012 and 2017. My grandma was the last one to kick the bucket and she was pretty much a vegetable for the last 4-5 years. Their ages were 86, 78, 79, and 78, respectively. My dad is already 73, every time I see him cough I'm like "oh no." He's still kickin though. He still works two jobs because this is America. Commissar SFLUFAN
Two of my grandparents were gone before I was even born in 1975. The other two passed away when I was in my early 20s.
TheShader
I guess by technicality. All my grandparents growing up have passed away. The last of which was my grandma on my dad's side circa 2014. She didn't last much longer after my grandpa, my dad's step-dad, passed away. Most I lost pretty young, my mom's mom passed away when I was less than 2, my mom's dad around when I was 3 or 4, and my dad's dad when I was in middle school. Leaving only my dad's mom and step-dad for awhile. But that's also from adoption, and I do have grandparents still kicking around on my biological side. Two grandma's and a grandpa. I've met my grandma on my birth dad's side, and despite my birth mom being excited for me to meet her parents I've always felt like they were never over the hill about meeting me. Maybe that's my own internal insecurities, I don't know. Point is I don't really have a huge relationship with my biological grandparents. Guest
My Granny (Dad’s mom) is still alive, and she’s in decent shape despite being mid 80s and a two time cancer survivor. The other three are long gone. I’m genuinely sad my wife never got a chance to meet my Grandmother (mom’s mom). They would have loved each other. Bacon
Nope. Not even biologically related to either grandpa, no cheating just divorce for one - death for the other, and both grandmas were heavy smokers and one was an alcoholic and the other tanned her skin into dark leather. Oh and the both bio grandpas are dead too, not just the one.
Best
All dead.
SimpleG
My grandfather on my dads side is still very much alive and kicking at 98. He lives alone and on his own. His older brother is closing in on 100 and his younger sister is 96. My father passed a few months ago and it s was very rough for him.

unogueen
Three were dead before I was born, quite early in my parents life (like childhood). Maternal grandma made it past y2k then got a stroke and spent her last days bedridden while Alzheimer chipped away at what was left.
Biggie
Nope. My parents are both gone also.
CastlevaniaNut18
Both grandmothers are still alive and living independently at ages 83 and 87. The older one has been showing some signs of early dementia, though, and things are growing somewhat difficult there. I lost one grandfather in 1997 from lymphoma at age 61. He was a hell of a guy and one of the cruelest things in the world that we were robbed of him so early. I was 10, so I have good memories of him. The other grandfather passed in 2019 at age 87. I knew all 4 of my great-grandmothers, the first dying when I was 4, the last dying just shy of her 99th birthday in 2019. I can even vaguely recall one great-grandfather who died when I was 2. Fizzzzle
My dad was an orphan so I never knew his parents. His adoptive mom died in like 1975. My great grandparents on my mom's side were mostly dead by the time I was born, except for one of my great grandfathers who was supposedly there then when I was born but died shortly thereafter. DarkStar189
I have one left. She’s 81 and on dialysis 3 times a week. We are on speaking terms but she helped make a few years of my life hell so it’s whatever.
Zaku3
Biological grandparents are dead. Of them only my maternal grandmother matters since she raised me so my mom could work 2 full times to provide for us. A grandmother but not biological is my ex-wife's grandma. Gonna go this year to visit my grandmotber"s grave.
b_m_b_m_b_m
All have died. One died when I was 1 or 2 from thyroid cancer (worked at a uranium processing facility) and the rest made it well into their 80s/early 90s. only one grandparent left for my wife, almost 90 now. Fizzzzle
Okay, so most people (at least in this group) don't. My ex still has 3 of her 4 grandparents still kicking. She's older than me, too. Her family is pretty white trash, though. Babies having babies, etc. My first girlfriend ended up having a kid at 15 or 16 (not mine, obviously). Her daughter is 17 or 18 now, which is crazy to think about. She doesn't have kids that I'm aware of, but my first girlfriend absolutely could be a grandmother at 33. Fizzzzle
Also, opposing stereotypes, my first girlfriend never had another kid. She just had the one in high school.

I can remember that from when I was like 9, before I even hit puberty. By the time I was touching boobs, I already knew that no sperm from this penis would ever be going in a vagina. My first girlfriend apparently did not get that lesson. I remember the day she found out she was pregnant, I was like ".... so you guys didn't pull out?" She didn't even know what that meant. This is why sex education is good. To be fair to my ex/friend, she has been an excellent mom and rose 5x above the occasion, but she shouldn't have had a kid at 15/16. Dodger
Been dead, one made it to 83 and died a a little over decade ago, rest died 25+ years ago. Sucks because the 3 I knew were pretty cool.

We eventually hit a point where we were like "if it happens, it happens." Obviously, given that she's my ex, I'm glad it didn't happen. She turned out to be an anti-vaxxer. But no. The first time I nutted inside someoene was when I was like 26 when I was dating a stripper and she couldn't fathom that I'd never done it before. We did it once and she made a whole thing about it and never let me do it again. ... She was the "one who got away." We had some great times. I met her after she was discharged from the Israeli military and we broke up because we had differing opinions on what counts as "cheating." She didn't think that fucking other women counted as cheating, I sure as shit do think it counts (you don't need a dick to fuck someone), and we went our separate ways. She's still in my top 3 relationships, though. She ended up moving to Australia and I've always kind of secretly hoped to run into her again. Sorry, I went on a tangent there.

silentbob
All have sadly passed. My mom’s mom died before my parents were married. Don’t remember my dad’s dad that well but died when I was real young I believe. Last real grandparent has been gone for almost 20 years, but lost my Nana last year or the year before. She married my mom’s dad a few years after her mom’s passing
