Kal-El814
Ken Levine wouldn’t recognize subtlety if it kicked him in the teeth.
Brian
He fired all his staff and spent 8 years figuring out his next game and it is Bioshock Space which was the most likely place for the next game.

You're doing it wrong. You're supposed to say Infinite was bad and the E3 trailer was good and Bernie would have won!
Mr.Vic20
I don't get the interwebs hate, all of the Bioshocks were at worst solid games and at best, fantastic for their time!

For sure - BioShock 2 was good, and underrated because it had to compete with BioShock 1 at the time. And yeah, Levine had nothing to do with it, so didn't feel it was relevant for Judas. But you are right.
TheLeon
I made this point in the Game Awards thread, but it’s been almost 10 years since the last Bioshock game. There have been some games since that scratched a similar itch, but I could definitely go for another game like that.
legend
The guy is a monster, apparently, but I do like his games a lot and I like how this one looks!

Bioshock and Bioshock infinite we’re both instant classics. He can do whatever he wants, I’m in Day 1. plus, it looks awesome.

stepee
I’m definitely on board and honestly I’m glad he’s just doing more Bioshock since it’s been so fucking long
legend
I'm down and my wife will probably be down too. Bioshock Infinite is one of her favorite games. It's not only one of the few games she's played start to finish, but replayed many times.
Mr.Vic20
Definitely in for more, and the “pause” has been helpful to reset my expectations.
Bacon
I'll pass on shooting robots and machines. It's just not satisfying for me. Lies of P got around this by having the robots be janky humans who bleed oil.

Xbob42
Looking at any amount of footage for this, my brain just goes "Yup, that's Bioshock" and I immediately move on to something else. I thought Bioshock was kind of dated and unfun when it was new. To "build" a new company (gut and replace, same thing right?) and then just spend 10 years to rebuild the same exact thing is super lame to me. Was there like... really nothing else they wanted to do? Was Bioshock the best he could ever envision?

The interview makes it sound like he's trying to do something much bigger and harder with the narrative. Will he succeed? Fuck if I know, but the goal at least does seem categorically different from the linear nature of Bioshock. 1
Xbob42
No idea if it was just someone joking or not, but I saw someone mention that he's "making a Bioshock about cancel culture" and that sounds fucking hilarious to me.
