I totally blanked that he was introduced in the series. Either way, I've thought about this cast some more and I'm utterly bored beyond belief. You have someone that can phase through matter, a super solider, a spy, a super solider, a super solider, and a really good fighter. Also, the matter phaser and spy are also known for their ability to throw a good punch, though Ghost can do some pretty lethal stuff with her ability to phase through people. Also, other than Ghost, who always wears her mask, it's such a white team. This has to be the least diverse project Marvel has going. Yeah, Kamran or Echo would have been pretty great additions. I'm guessing Kamran is too young and Echo is already committed to her own series. Still...If you're going to throw Winter Solider into the mix, there has to be someone more interesting. johnny Posted September 11, 2022 Share Posted September 11, 2022 really more bucky? come the fuck on. we do not need more of him, especially in this. the roster seems pretty shit. taskmaster sucked in black widow. the agent whatever guy could maybe be good. florence pugh rules. wish we got something other than david harbour. his characters daughter is already there. ghost i think is a good choice. kind of a different character. definitely could use more diversity in what the damn characters do. No idea... he could be playing Amadeus Cho but he had no connection to the Thunderbolts in the comics. He could be anybody really, especially if they are casting an existing character. I''m open to different interpretations of these characters but i really wish they would have casted Taskmaster closer to how he is in the comics. Spoiler Thunderbolts were presented as a team of heroes that were going to step up in the aftermath of Onslaught ostensibly eliminating the Avengers (not exactly, but it’s comics so whatever). This was both the in-universe as well as IRL marketing. At the end of issue 1, it’s revealed that the Thunderbolts were actually the Masters of Evil in disguise, lead by Baron Zemo. It’s one of the biggest swerves and better kept secrets in “modern” comics history,. So I have no idea if they’re going to try anything like that here. There have been other iterations of that team in the last 25 years or so and not all of them had that gimmick specifically of course, but that’s what they’re best known for. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The team, after the reveal that @Kal-El814 talked about, basically became Marvel's Suicide Squad (minus the Suicide part) and became a team made up of former villains looking to redeem themselves eventually working for the goverment. Hawkeye took over the team after Citizen V / Zemo because he was a former villain turned hero, then Luke Cage did the same because he was a former convicted felon who turned his life around and looked to give the Thunderbolt members the same opportunity. The latest team is indeed led by Bucky/Winter Soldier and several members in the movie line-up were even members in the comics. The team was always intended to Marvel's answer to the Suicide Squad. And for whoever said this is Marvel's answer to The Boys, The Thunderbolts predates The Boys by almost a decade and The Boys owes a lot of its premise to a comic called Marshall Law from the 80's which even had a Homelander like character named The Public Spirit.
