GameDadGrant
@chakoo Was it considered good? I think most people were initially excited for it, since the developers were big fans of Castle of Illusion. But yeah, the painting/thinning mechanic got old (and intrusive) quickly. It’d be a better game if they kept that to a minimum. The actual playforming and usual 2D action game stuff work pretty well.
chakoo
Don’t forget, Luigi’s Mansion is out tomorrow. Who’s picking it up? I’ve already got one on reserve at EB for pickup tomorrow!
CastlevaniaNut18
My copy is arriving from Amazon tomorrow. I plan to play it next week.
GameDadGrant
Oh snap, forgot that was coming out so soon! Will be picking up for sure!
chakoo
Got my copy, also got a copy of bravely second for $23 (new) cant wait to play this tonight! I played bits but never completed it on GameCube but played LM2 to completion on 3ds.
GameDadGrant
Got Luigi’s Mansion (and The World Ends With You: Final Remix) the other day. Seems like I’m in a “remake” mood lately! I also have been putting more time into Ultra Sun. Still haven’t finished it...!
chakoo
Man luigi's mansion is a little hard to play at times with the c-nub. I'm using the strafe option as it works better for me then not but sometimes I get stuck in an odd state where i'm looking up at the ceiling going in circles and holding down isn't getting him unstuck. Other then that having a bit of fun but getting a little stuck on how to get a specific ghost (the hallway one). 23 hours ago, GameDadGrant said: I also have been putting more time into Ultra Sun. Still haven’t finished it...! I'm still on Moon, I haven't even gotten to opening up Ultra Sun. Since I'm updating my list, for curiosity, I've had a bit of a 3ds binge recently and spiked to 113 titles in my collection. =/ I feel like black friday will be bad to my 3DS backlog again this year, lots of atlus titles I'm eyeing when the price drops or detective pikachu, last year I ended up with 4-6 titles for the backlog. I've got soo much to keep me busy well into 2020. =P
GameDadGrant
Word. And yeah, with even more games (somehow) still coming out well into 2019, my 3DS backlog isn't about to slow down anytime soon either. At least the release dates are now more of a "trickle" than a full "firehose spray" schedule. It's a bit more manageable. Do we have any idea when Jake Hunter comes out? Hurdyb1
Currently playing Metroid Samus Returns. As usual like all Metroid games I have played, This is just as fun that I can't put it down.
GameDadGrant
That was pretty great. Loved the music and attention to detail in that game. Though I’m reminded I still need to go back and finish Metroid Prime: Federation Force. It’s a better game than people give it credit for. CastlevaniaNut18
I never finished Samus Returns However, Luigi's Mansion is still fantastic. I didn't wanna stop playing this morning. I'll definitely complete this one, even though I beat it on Gamecube a couple years back.

My only frustration with the game so far is the shooting star room and the nub sometimes making it harder to control.

Hurdyb1
Finished Samus Returns this morning. Fun and lengthy. My only issue was the last two bosses who were tough enough that it made me get some Ninja Gaiden flashbacks meaning they were stupid tough. I wish I would have took my time on it more but my friend challenged me that I couldn't beat it in the time I said I could. Once he said I couldn't do it, it amped me to finish it as fast as I could. Had fun with it.
Remarkableriots
Playing Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call with 219 hours played and 351,832 rm. I'm also playing Final Fantasy Explorers.
chakoo
On final boss of Luigi’s Mansion and only missing 3 boo ghost. Man the end was starting to be a pain (stupid boos and their 300 points to drain). Kind if glad the game is a bit short as i’m not sure I would enjoy a longer play. I might have to bust out LM2 because I feel there were parts I liked more in it but its been so long. Now to figure out what to play next (maybe go finally finish Metroid or Captain Toad). chakoo
I liked most of the game sans the final boss and late game Boos. The rest was great fun!
Bloodporne
I wanna get one for those sweet, sweet Castlevania games I've been missing out on. 3DS plays those, right?

CastlevaniaNut18
On a sad note, last night I found out my 3DS is now doing the thing where the paint chips off. Goddammit.
CastlevaniaNut18
Beat it just in time for Halloween! Only took 7 hours. My 3DS log shows it had 18 in Dark Moon.
chakoo
Welp, Black Friday and end of year deals are almost upon us. Who wants to start taking guesses on how many 3ds games i’ll end up with between now and end of year? :P Last year I think it was around 4/5 titles. While I don’t spot many 3ds deals so far, I’m sure I’ll still find a nice pocket of them. At least so far i’ve spotted one plan pickup this friday (detective Pikachu).
chakoo
https://happyholidays.nintendo.com/cyber-deals/ Some great deals on older 3ds games are live on eShop. I’m eyeing like maybe 3 titles I still don’t own. Also if you don’t have dq7 I highly recommend it!!!
chakoo
Man, end of year deals on 3DS games up here were pretty much shit. -.- Over the whole black friday to now I only ended up with detective pikachu & sushi strikers on sale. =/ I was hoping a few others would have gotten a cheap discount. Guess I'll have to pay full price for a few games while I can still find copies. =/ So unless something drastic changes between now and next week, I'll end out the year with only having picked up 18 titles of which 3 were digital and 4 were used games. Even if it sounds like I still got a lot, note that 90% of my game buying this year was 3ds and most I bought on sale. Still have a few big titles from this year missing from my collection (namely Wario Ware). 2018 Gets Spoiler Usa Complete Metroid: Samus Returns Usa New Pokemon Ultra Sun Usa Complete Kirby Battle Royale Usa Complete Kirby: Planet Robobot Usa Complete Shinobi 3D Usa Complete Fire Emblem Warriors Usa New Mario Party: The Top 100 Usa New Yo-Kai Watch Blasters White Dog Squad Usa Digital Code of Princess Usa New Culdcept Revolt limited edition Usa Complete Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion Usa Complete Luigi's Mansion Usa New Bravely Second: End Layer Usa Complete Dead or Alive: Dimensions Usa Digital Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker Usa Digital Stella Glow Usa New Detective Pikachu Usa New Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido * New just means I haven't opened it yet so it's still sealed. Of my pick-ups this year, my most played titles so far have been Metroid, yo-kai blasters, Kirby Planet Robobot & Stella Glow. The titles I've (mostly) completed this year is Kirby planet Robobot & Luigi's Mansion. My 3DS collection now sits at 118 titles. (I actually expected to be more at 125 due to buying up titles while I still can) --edit-- Also @best3444 come join the topic now that you own a 3ds. Bloodporne
This is probably an extremely retarded question seeing how it's a handheld but... Is there a video output that lets you run the 3DS on your TV screen or anything similar? I'd love to play many games but am just not a handheld guy at all, especially due to the tiny screens. No I don’t think so. Even if you could it would look like ass on a television screen.

Pikachu
You could try a 3DS emulator if you really don't want play on a handheld. Just make sure you buy a legit copy of the game.

The small screens are a total waste for my purposes so I was hoping somehow it could be 'linked' to a TV. 3 minutes ago, Pikachu said: You could try a 3DS emulator if you really don't want play on a handheld.
