Commissar SFLUFAN
What now? When a game is released, we may publish impressions of the early hours. We might highlight a small but unexpected detail. Maybe we’ll provide a guide to help you navigate the opaque opening moments. It’s likely we’ll publish something very similar to the classic review every now and then. For the games our audience cares about most, expect a hodgepodge of all these things and other ideas, too. skillzdadirecta
Sounds good to me. Guess they are catching on to the fact that most gamers today go by user impressions and word of mouth rather than actual reviews.
Brian
All reviews read relatively the same. The lexicon is the same. The beats are the same. The 8-10 scale is the same. I like they are trying something different. I would like to see sites streaming the game Day 1 on Twitch and taking/answering questions. I look forward to reading articles about people jerking off on BART at Polygon and all my other preferred sites.
gamer.tv
Like most, gone are the days I would look through a review. I'll watch the odd video review, mostly to see highlighted positives/negatives of gameplay but round table discussions and impressions are the new metric. Dexterryu
They can't review anything without injecting some liberal political slanted commentary anyway. I'm OK with whatever political opinions but it seems like they often go out of their way to find something to be offended about in any game.
Spork3245
The reviews will now be based solely upon the amount of faux moral outrage each line of dialogue gives the reviewer.
Duderino
Great news for developers with publishers that rely on metacritic. Removing or lessening Polygon from the equation is one less hurdle in the way of bonuses or at worst, staying employed. Good riddance.
Bacon
I don't read reviews, but I'll watch a 3 hour critique.
XxEvil AshxX
Haven't been to Polygon In a while. If they ditch their social agendas along with the review scores maybe I'll give it a look.
ALIEN-gunner
Polygon making themselves even less relevent? I'm all for this decision!
