Ray tracing doesn't just mean fancy reflections, it also can mean very high quality lighting, and lighting is extraordinarily important for things to look good, and is one area many games are still deficient in. If there are talented devs adding high quality RT to N64 titles that actually takes advantage of what RT is good at, be prepared for some N64 games that weirdly look better in some ways than some of our "best looking" games that don't take lighting seriously. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Yeah reflections are the easiest to show off I think especially in stills (and are rad!) but RT GI is the main thing to me that can make a game stand out as truly current gen. From the rest of the twitter thread, it sounds like most of the lighting will still need some degree of hand tuning. So it could be a while for many games to get done.
