SoberChef
Hadn't ever heard of this before. I always joked for years about "If I die, just buy a gallon of gas & obtain a 55 gallon drum, set it & forget it!" Yet this option seems like a feasible, & relatively cheaper option than traditional burials or even cremation. May have to look into this as an option to include in my will, very cool for sure. Ricofoley
I'd be okay with it. Put me in the wood chips.

ThreePi
I've never composted before, but I was under the impression that too much meat wasn't good for the compost, fats might be even worse. And given the body composition of the average America I can't imagine we'd make good soil.

The "well marbled" Americans can have the option to be smoked low & slow, brisket style, for 24 hours to render the fat before being transitioned into their compost heap! Mr.Vic20
In! I think most current burial practices are really silly. What need do I have for my body to be respected when I'm dead?

The price of preparation, coffin, burial plot, tremendous waste. 1

SimpleG
We cremated my mother and scattered her ashes at her chosen location. Both my sister and I agreed that it was easier for us to move on by not having location to visit. The idea of erecting a monument for the dead always felt creepy to us. Anathema-
The way we honor our dead isn't so much about how we treat them as much as it is a comfort in how we'll be treated after we die.
